Mp3 has caused serious damage to the music industry and changed the dynamics of marketing music irrepairably.But the obvious fact remains that mp3 is here to stay and it will continue to create hassles for record labels.Just like how it took some geniuses to create the mpeg layer 3,I hope a few brilliant men will find a way to neautralize its presence.That way producers can continue to create great music,in a highly competitive environment, and still make good money that will keep them motivated.
This is all quite obvious and whats more - I am on a couple of glasses of vodka.For now,I just hope the lack of big money doesnt disinspire producers from creating great music.
Dave,Its great to see that even after so many years in the music industry, touching so many people's lives with your music still puts a smile on your face.On some days,thats all it matters. |

Dave has touched upon a really interesting point, the fact myself and 1000's of other listeners of internet radio expect to see the release of a single or albumn alot faster than it does.
I heard an interesting fact on the radio the other day; here in the UK for every 1 single bought in a shop, 4 are bought online whether it be from an e-shop or like I-Tunes & Hooj who provide mp3 downloads for almost nothing. Theres still alot of companies and artists that fail to realise that whether they like it or not paying to download mp3s along with e-shopping is growing exsponencially.
The whole process from promo to full release needs to be speedier somehow. Either that or hold back any previews/news on any up comming tunes to the listeners, which in my opinion would be a step in the wrong direction. |

I agree with you, there has been worse on the forums and I try to deal with it all as fairly as i can.
I happen to Like Mr Dresdens prodcutions and Remixes and have respect for him, but all of us should be able to take 'feedback' (wanting a better word there lol) without having to resort to childish come backs.
everyone on these forums should be treated the same, no matter if they are a famous producer or just someone who likes to listen to trance now and then.
it may be 'just the internet' but that should not equal a free for all on flaming ppl just cos they don't like being criticised
