| Perhaps you should try to introduce her through the stuff previously played on Top20 :) And If there are some tunes you really enjoy yourself you shold try the radio edit or vocal mix ;) |

What does she listen to by the way? |
good question. even if she cant relate to trance, try other genres of electronic music ie breaks, drum and bass, house etc. if that doesnt work, forget it and relate to her with the music that she likes. that is of course unless she's into country western music, then there is no hope:p |

get a girl who likes dance music:) that is easier said then done ...
i guess im lucky, my girl used to love the cheesy vocal stuff.. but now she is into prog, melodic trance even some breaks and techno... she even makes fun of some of the tunes which i like since they are "too cheesy" for her.
goodluck:) |

This is hard to do too... my g/f was like "Wow, this is a really long song!" when I sent her some 8-9 minute long songs. I sent her like "For An Angel", "Suburban Train", "Mindcircus", all my favorite songs... though she liked "Beautiful Things" the best, naturally. People who aren't into trance usually like that one because of its rather commercial vocals and I think the guitar part in the breakdown too. I dunno I guess it just eventually grows on people. She has to put up with stuff like Magik 6 every time I'm driving her around though, so hopefully eventually it'll rub off. The majority of girls like vocals in songs I've noticed, so try some of that. |
yo magik 6 us awesome, i thikn even if ur not into trance, u gotta appreciate the music, but if u play it long enuff like u said, itll rub off on here ahah |

Dude, try playing remixes of mainstream artists to her
Example like radioheads remixes, annie lennox or whatever.
You wanna know what worked for my gf?
William Orbits-Barber Adagio For Strings(Corsten Remix)
Still its no use forcing her to listen to something when she refuses cause you'll end up making her think ur some kind of trance freak. |

| it's a lot easier to recommend if you tell us what she listens to normally, so that we can recommend stuff that has a similar sound. |

Personally, I had a girl that disliked the progressive music I listened to so much so, we would have fights in the car on what we should listen to. I loved her so much I broke down and listened to the commerical garbage that was on the radio for her.
In other words, there is absolutely no way to presuade a girl or guy for that matter, to enjoy the type of music we like to listen to. Just like everyone here, it takes a lot of dedication, searching and listening to really enjoy some of the unknown artists who are really geniuses themselves. In other words, we deserve this profound music because of the time we put into it. We aren't fed the garbage, we go out and search for the gold.
If your so stuck on persaution, try this:
pop in a tune that really means a lot to you. Something that stirs your emotions so much so that it makes you feel really good or makes you cry.. it doesnt matter.
Tell her or him what and how you feel when you hear it. Tell him or her what you are picturing in your head when you hear it... a story, an event.. whatever, the definiton of music.
I tried this with Moon Project - Moments are forever. I told her when I listen to it.. I picture being with someone I love (her) running through cornfields on a cold october afternoon.. out in the middle of no where guiding her with my hand running through it. I also pointed out when the beat and the melody progressed to the climax I picture her and I breaking down and stopping.. then making out with her and realizing how much we loved each other.. in the middle of an open field. I told her moments last forever :).
You can try and try and try... but I think when it comes down to it, this music we all listen to is best when your alone and when you can set your mind free for a little while. Even in clubs or in another presence I cant seem to feel the same way when I chill, listen with headphones on in my room alone. this music is too personal to share imo. |

Try these tunes:
Everything (yes, even "Fantasya" :p) from Robert Miles' "Dreamland"
Aurora - Ordinary World (Above and Beyond Mix)
Operatica - Melancholy Rose (Richie Santana Anthem Mix)
Darude - Next To You (original)
And if those don't work, oh well, everyone likes their own thing - my brother hates straight electronic music, whereas I absolutely LOVE it :D |
