I heard the system is the same one as Space in Ibiza.

Ive been to Space and my ears were hurting so bad that i had to stay behind the speakers near the DJ booth.

By the way, the DJ booth is very Fan freindly if you want to see your DJ up close

So why is that good? I mean, it's not just the number of watts that make the system, I would imagine... I seek enlightenment! :D

Im not the one to ask honestly! I just read the flyer i got that said the 150,000 watt thing. But yeah, the quality of the sound has to do with the type of system (and speakers) not so much the wattage or power.

I agree, but the soundsystem, ableit lound, was the clearest i've ever heard. It was amazing!

So was the crowd mostly gay? (You know what I mean)
Was it a circuit party?

i have to say i was very impressed with boa....yes sound is incredible and staff go out of their way to be nice to you(maybe they should send the guv staff on a field trip to pick up some tips)...all the washroom stalls that i was in had running water so i only had to buy one $5 bottle...the layout of the club is good...several different levels and lots of elbow room....and a nice mix of people...probably more shirtless bois than usual because it was hex hector...

nice to see erika and nat and yes deko-ze was dancing up a storm...he's such a nice guy...

i did have a complaint and actually got to give it first hand to the manager(owner?)ronny....i was only 10 feet from the door and waited in line almost an hour to get in while the vip line was constantly moving....for every 50 people in the vip, only 2 from the regular line were let in....at least 10 people behind me got tired of this and went home...money out of boa's pockets....when i did get in i mentioned this to the bouncers and manager at the door and they actually seemed quite receptive to my complaint and apologized to me...that was nice to hear....

and a tip to those who haven't been yet....the security is very tight...they ask you to take everything out of your pockets and put it in a plastic tray while you walk through the metal detector...this made me a little nervous because my keys and money were sitting on a table out of my site while i was being frisked...the girl said not to worry and that my valuables were being watched very carefully however i noticed that while i was being searched the guy supposed to be watching the trays was distracted by someone else and around 4 other people were digging through the trays getting their own things unsupervised....so when they ask you to put everything in the tray keep your money(bills) in your pocket and take it out when the girls search you....

other than that i highly recommend the club and look forward to going back!!

sarah it reminded me of stereo....kind of two different crowds only not seperated like they do at stereo, gays on one side and the breeders on the other...there seemed to be pocket of gay guys around the middle level and near the back of the room....i'd say more str8'ish early on and got gayer as the morning went on...around a 50/50 mix...very friendly crowd, good vibe...

friends complained about the wait and left...they waited in the regular line for 2 hours (2-4, I think) and said it pretty much didn't move while they kept letting people in from the guestlist line. Not cool.

I'm still dying to check this place out though ;)

Hex didn't thrill me the last time I saw him and people said his Lotus set last year was weak, so I skipped this one...too bad...he's been very very good in the past. How was he this time? What about Sean Miller...damn, I saw him years ago at a little party on Spadina and had fun.

I really loved the club. You can't explain it to people that haven't been.

Great music, Great vibe, Great club, and really friendly bartender!

I just don't like those steps with that minimal lighting.

I almost broke my neck. LOL. Other than that, the club is so amazing.

How do you guys know who the djs are going to be later on? I'm dying to find out the line ups for the next few weeks/months.

like i said i love the place but something else that caught my eye on the way in was they charged me $35 cover but only rang up $25 on the cash register...didn't this kind of thing sink studio 54:crazy:

Out of the 3 people I went with, I got away with the easiest search (phew!). They gave Dallas a working-over, tho! I've had easier searches going to visit people in jail!!! They were even feeling behind her ears. WTF??

Loved the space, sound, etc... Was worried about tripping down 1 of the steps from even before getting in there. Of course, I took a little spill once we got in & I took my 1st step back down. Twisted my foot a bit, but luckily nothing major. I made sure not to trip again.
Oddly, I didn't see the bubbles... Crowd was more gay than usual clubs I go to, but it doesn't bother me (tho Dallas would've preferred more 'eligible men' there for her, lol!). Not sure if that's the norm, or due to Hex Hector being there. It wasn't that busy, for a 'grand opening', but no complaints. Plenty of room to dance & search for friends. 1st DJ from the Low End specialists didn't have much flow, or great mixing skills. 2nd guy dropped MUCH better tunes & mixed well. Left 20 min's into Hex's set- too tribal, & my crew wanted to leave.
Good to see you, Erica & Craig!
