Uh, autotrader.ca is all there is, dude.
PS: Screw the Celica GT-S and the Supra, get a '90-93 Celica All-Trac.
AWD turbo, with the 3S-GTE engine, 200hp. Kinda rare, but worth it if you can find one.
However, if you must get a Supra, make sure it is a Supra Turbo with the targa top. |

thats the problem guy...FINDING THE CAR hehe. I need a car within a couple days. I only wanna blow about 4 grand on it cuz im planning to get another car in a couple months. Even finding supras are a frigging task itself :(
I did find a supra with the targo roof...twin turbo, but the mileage is troubling me. North American built supras before 93 have a defect..after 200,000 kms the head gasket blows. Only the Jap versions dont ahve this problem(cuz they rectified it right away). The supra I saw was like 2800 and it has 198,000 kms, so Id have to rebuild the engine. Its not the money thats the issue, its just itll take like a week to rebuild it, and I need the car by monday latest hehe.
Thanks for the site firestarter, ill check it out :) |

Why don't you get the brand new KIA, it will cost you same money and the insurance will be so much less. And think about the warranty, I would not risk to pay 4 gees for 12 year old car, would it be porshe or ferrarri, 12 year old is 12 year old |

i used to work car sales and have the OMVIC lic so if you're buying from a dealer and need to know your rights or any other info feel free to PM me. you'll be surprised how much rights you have...
if you need the car in as little time as that good luck. the celicas a pretty rare car(unlike a camry) and to find a clean one that wont give you trouble takes lots of searching. i would either wait for the right one or save my money...
this friend of mine loved them so much had 3 sitting around at one point. i haven't seen the guy in a while but i could find some contact if i had some time. theres another guy whos best buddys in the local celica club. mostly all-trac but there are some fwd ones as well. i'm sure theres one person who's looking to sell theirs for a decent price and your price range mentioned looks good. problem is guy is australia right now and wont be back till mid feb. like i said not enough time.
theres a few on trader that 'seem' fine but make sure you have'em checked...also reading up on a celica forum would be a good idea..
a pre '93 twin turbo??:conf:
why not a '91-93 s13...its RWD and a real sports car not a wannabe :D |

friends with an auto mechanic? Those cars are nothing but trouble, I've had some friends own them and they were rotten. |

don't go for an old supra...the maintainance will kill you
celica's are a really good choice. my brother has a 87 celica that he bought for $1500 and it's in immaculate cond. he's had it for almost two years and the only problem he's had is the replacement of the ditributer cap ($10)...
only problem is, toyota's seem to fog up like crazy in the winter :P
if you got the money, get an AWD Turbo Eagle Talon TSI...they range from roughly $4000+ (little lower depending on which gen you want, i prefer the 92-97 but some don't) anyways, it's AWD (which would be SOOO much fun right now), turbo charged, looks beautiful (it's basically the mitsubishi eclipse, Eagle = chrysler and mitsubishi) the only thing is, it's fairly high on maintainance. some people swear by them and say they've had very little problems but most people say it's costly. it's not so much that the car brakes down all the time, just the parts are a little expensive since it's discontinued. |

Fact:
If one buys any "performance" model of any car then expect that the has been driven out of it. People don't buy performance model cars just to have them sit in the driveway.
I wouldn't buy a performance model unless I was going to drop in a crate engine and rebuild the tranny - even more so when the thing has 150k km on it. |

^^
yea im still debating whether I should do that. I found a very nice looking celica, which a deadly mileage but reasonable in price. Im probably gonna drop a new block and tranny on it. Remember, this car is only gonna be of use to me a for a couple months, after that im just gonna fiddle around with it.
But the engine I found was a j-spec turboed..so I may go with that. Still deciding tho...I may of bought myself a few more days, so if anyone knows any places.
Thanks to everyone for their help so far :) |

3S-GTE? Is this a FWD Celica, or an All-Trac (GT-FOUR)? |
