Somehow most of SE Asia has been left out of this whole global muzik thing. I can't think of one Japanese, Chinese, or Korean guy (living in the county) who is in these forums. Most japanese DJs spin House or Techno.
Good ones:
Satoshi Tomiie
Takkyu Ishino
Towa Tei
and
Tsuyoshi Suzuki (The only one I know that plays trance)
Also, for what I hear, a number of European DJs hit Tokyo regularly. Still have to visit the place. |

how funny that there is a thread on japan:) i lived there for two years when i was in high school on a marine core base near Hiroshima:) although, i don't remember there being any good trance at the clubs there. mostly like Barbie Girl by Aqua and oldies like, "Stayin Alive" and lots of rap. they love rap:) anyway, i mostly would just get drunk with my friends (they never id the americans...we always got in bars and could buy liquor at only 16!) and go to Karaoke bars and sing like morons! hahah man, i miss it there now:) it sucked living on the military base cuz everyone's so gossipy and everyone knows your business and . but every chance i got, i was out in town off the base at the Japanese malls and stuff and clubs. i also climbed Mt. Fugii with my dad and got to go to Okinawa too and Korea and other bases there in the Japan and Guam and stuff for when i was on the tennis team. it was an awesome experience. japanese ppl are so humble and they love americans. you could practically leave your car unlocked with a purse in it and no one would touch it. but it might be different in much bigger cities like Tokyo...but anyway, you're lucky to be moving there! you better get used to sushi and sake and ominomiaki:) hahaha
btw what city are you moving to? |

| My suggestion....learn how to DJ and introduce Trance to Japan! Should be easy enough to get gigs there. |
