According to a member of the Mekka staff, Sunday's incredible concert, as well as the tour that would have been one of the most ambitious undertakings to ever come out of Toronto, will not happen, adding to a long string of underground cancellations to hit the GTA.
All news is sketchy at this point. The Mekka staff person said the company -- which includes members from the biggest and best-known production companies in Ontario, including Lifeforce and Ottawa's Solid Marketing Collective -- will release more information on Wednesday.
Asked whether the tour cancellation was due to a pull-out by prime corporate sponsor Microsoft, the staff member said, "No... It was a big undertaking, and a lot of different things had to happen. Unfortunately it just didn't work out."

I have not gone out since Mauro at the GUV. I bought my ticket a week ago and have had dreams of banging trance and house.........Now I am crushed and sad......... I will wait till the official word but from the sound of the posts at the Mekka forum I don't hold much hope......Now I will have to sit here in my cube at work all day sad............:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

They have posted that all Mekka events planned for the month of AUG have been cancelled..............It's on the site now.......

Ok calm down, I know its a sad story, mekka was gonna be a hype party, but theres nothign we can do. Its all the media's ing fault, I cant wait till idance, we gonna show them what we are about, s. Cancellin our all the time.. :mad:
