haha @ libya wanting to host the world cup. will gadafi gas the opposition if they lose?
also egypt not really a good idea IMO, bit too close to the dodgyness of the middle east, a big event is an easy target mr b. laden and his buddies.
i reckon morroco will get it coz theyre right next to europe and not a mental country. tunisia are close but twinned with libya so no chance. |

did you know that in Lybia you have to declare your religion when you enter the country or fill in your informations for a hotel room ? guess what happens to you when you say you are jewish ! |

| yea i'd b surprised if ne other country other than South Africa got it ... especially after the way they got screwed over losing out to germany for 2006 ... fifa already announced the 2014 world cup gonna b in Brazil |

| they've seriously annoucned the 2014 location already? I can't see how doing this is good for the game, basically telling hte rest of the world you cannot even try for the hosting rights for another 14 years. might stop some pressure on a few officials from the country who gets the rights, but it's about time fifa learnt to not elect people who cannot handle political pressure |

Its not official yet but Sepp Blatter stated that he wants Brazil to host it and a lot of countries also backing his opinion ... article here

you have to know that it's gonna be a tough race between two candidates : Morocco and South Africa , Egypt and Tunisia-Lybia are out of the race for sure.
MOROCCO 2010 ALL THE WAY , we have the best geo-political situation (easiest way to get to Africa to watch the world cup , Spanish/Portuguese/French/Italian supporters can watch a game the same day and get back to their countries) , stability (we are a kingdom unlike those fake-ass democracies where the leader wins 99% of the votes and gets to place his son after him) , security (you can walk out the streets and no one will bother you or rape you or kill you unline South Africa) etc ...

Realisticly speaking, South Africa must be the odds on favorite. Theres plenty going for us, all you've got is your proximity to europe.
As for crime, if you do dumb-ass-tourist like walking around with an expensive camera around your neck, a big ass rolex on your wrist and a t-shirt that says DUMB TOURIST HERE , then you'll get robbed no matter where you are in the world. Trust me, I lived in an exclusive part of London (St Johns Wood) for 5 years and I saw kids getting mugged because they'd flash all their expensive gear.Just use common sence:rolleyes: |

I cant deny that. You're right man. I'm just saying that I've managed to survive around 16 years without getting in so much as a school-ground fist fight.
Cops here are pretty hardcore during normal times and I'm sure that during the World Cup there wont be any .

i dunno but i reckon it's got something to do with gas and chambers :stongue:
also yeh south aftrica has really bad crime rate, it is probably the most prosperous of the countries but it wont be to healthy having a massive influx of foreign rich tourists for the cup now will it? |
