Has trance saved your life? (pg. 3)

You are a noobie, you don't understand what happened on this board with suicide in October and November. When you know people who committed suicide, you don't take any of this KILL YOURSELF crap as a joke. If a song can help someone through depression then let the person have their music, if it works then allow it to. I don't think in life, you can tell someone to go kill yourself at any point, it's wrong, insensitive and stupid. Btw, I stand by my remarks, you must be clueless if you tell someone else to kill themselves.

a member of my family tried to commit suicide wen her b/f died in a car crash. wen everything come to light she said she was going to commit suicide again, it was only listening to a song that her and her b/f used to listen to that stopped her. Made her want to live again the song was with or without you by U2

so maybe there is something in it. maybe people need to open there minds a little bit ;)

Funny, your pm to me was so friendly and informative... unlike this load of ... hypocrite. You call me clueless, uninformed... you tell me to be sensitive. Try looking at it from another point of view before you flame. There are those out there that really do contemplate suicide serisously.. and nothing as insignificant as a song (however beautiful and emotional it may be) is gonna be the one deciding factor in their decision to live or die. To lay claim to such only shows a fickle outlook on the subject and reveals the the person saying such things as somebody who really isnt all that serious about it. Take an example.. somebody who got raped, or ed as a kid... somebody who loses both parents in a tragic accident... somebody who gets completely devastated by somebody they love... they contemplate kiling themselves... but wait, they hear a song! and suddenly everything is ok?! What a load of ...

And if you tools dont want to discuss this subject frankly, then dont make topics about it in a public forum... what a bunch of crybabies.

you are clueless buddy. Oblivious to the power of music.

you've been around here less than 21 days... sheesh.

Nice reply, head.. go ahead and hide behind that "n00b" comment you keep making.. cuz its the only crutch you have to lean on. Fact is, I never told anybody to commit suicide... you completely misinterpreted what I said.I dont give a what happened on here in Oct-Nov... it means absolutely nothing to me.. so quit bringing it up. I have extensive experience in this area... and what I have been through... is quite real... and it trancends any sort of trivial nonsense that has been thrown out so far in this thread. To say that some freaking song can save you from killing yourself.. is a complete insult to those that would due to certain hardships in their lives. Sure, music (and trance in particular, if you ask me) can bring a large amount of joy to one's life. But.. to go so far as to applaud it as a savior... is purely moronic.. end of discussion.

I've got a history with depression... and my life went to a few months back, so I was feeling really suicidal.

I went to Dumonde @ Viva, not knowing what I was going to do myself... but during Marc Aurel - Running (Dumonde remix) I felt so good, and found a new hope in life. It was the best I've EVER felt.

Anyone else had experiences like that?

Then again, could've just been the E kicking in...

Actualy, Ive been around here for less than 3 days... yet you still cant refute anything I have to say, you ing idiot.

How about you drop this sorry ass "you're a n00b and you dont understand the beauty that is Trance" attitude and try making a valid point? Oh yeah... you cant, can you? Nice try, tooty.. try to compose a reply that consists of more than empty "noob" flames next time, genius.

I never did say music was the saviour but I do know people where it has helped them thru difficult times. It will probably never work for me because religion has always taken me thru the horrible times and has always worked for me. If it worked for mosaic and he is not as depressed then I think it is a good thing. 3 days and you flame the world..hahahahaha, nice start.

I will add tho, that the new guy has a valid point. I've never seen how music can get someone thru depression (having been thru it myself, it's not easy and I tried music, I settled for seeing the doctor and getting medication and religion). Just the one comment maybe was uncalled for, just after all this site has gone thru with suicide and members. I will say that at least he speaks his mind

Well, as I said to you in pm.. my first comment was a bit tactless... and I was wrong for that... but I didnt mean it to be as inflammatory as you all make it out to be (I was trying to be humorous... it seems nary a soul shares my sense of humor here). As for the topic at hand.. I think now that we are gettig down to things.. it seems we are more in agreement than it appeared before. Im totally down with the idea that Trance can bring an incredible amount of joy to one's life... I just have a problem with certain aspects of this thread (that have been stated before.... so dont need to be regurgitated). So.. I concede... peace to you all... and my sincerest apologies for the offense my views (tho they remain unchanged) may have caused.

And as for the 3 day thing... Hey, such is life (Rank 1, baby!).. fact is, nobody is gonna like me regardless, Im new here..

I wouldn't go so far to say it actually saved my life but it definately has gotten me through some tough times. Just great to come home after a crap day and relax to some good dance music. It always lifts my mood and helps me deal with other problems I may be going through. I would say it has been a major help in getting me through school, I love studying to this music.

I read all of your posts, dear Coreesan, and let me tell you, all I have to say to you is you're an ignorant prick, who needs to stfu. (My God, I think that's one of the first times I've ever said that on TA)

Obviously you've never been in a situation where you didn't know which way to turn or what road to take in life. Where each direction seemed more bleak than the one next to it. Where it seemed like there was no sunlight, only darkness. When you woke up wishing you never woke up at all.

If you had, you would know that suicide is no joke, and that comments like that are arrogant and without any sort of thought. How dare you judge someone else on what helped them through a tough situation. Each person handles life or death situations differently, and if someone realizes through music that there is something still out there for them in life, you should be happy for them, not criticize them and make yourself look like a idiot.

I sincerely hope that preposterous post you made was enough to get you banned. If it was not, I have to say the mods are inequitably executing their powers.
