could be one of a few things,
a) the moniter is geting old
b) the moniter may need degausing, some newer models will do this if poweered down for more then 10 mins then powered on again
c) interference - magnetic sources near to the moniter - speakers, motors, etc or mobile phones/wireless lan/video etc or interference near to the moniter cable, i.e it goes near to a power transformer for pc speakers etc |

Move the TV or get an LCD screen.
Unless you happen to have magnetically shielded casing around, which is used on industrial transformers and generally does not come in the "see-thru" variety. |

Ok, I guess no one is actually reading my post.
MAGNETICALLY SHIELDED CASING IS EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT USED IN INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMERS
THERE IS NO CHEAP / FREE SOLUTION
Move the TV dude, it's not that hard. :) |

| hey cheggy |
| Yeah, they use magnetic shielding in reference and near field monitors also to protect from this kind of interference. |

damn it people, can't you read the whole thread before replying?
tin foil would've been my advice :)
or a thin metallic net would've probably worked too |

changing the refresh rate could fix the problem and then there would be no need for tin foil ;) |
