Vocal Effect (Sample included)

Many tracks with vocals has a great effect that dragging the vocal like a wind and then the vocal is starting..
Like in "Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Above and Beyond Remix)"
A&B dragged the first word.. like "E...E...E..Embrace me........"
This is a sample of what im talking about :

SAMPLE
mantisnl
1st step: reverse the vocal
2nd step: put a reeverb on it with a very long decay
3rd step: reverse the vocal again

then u get the long decay first, thats what makes the "drag";)

this is, how i would do it to! if you set an reverse of about 5 sec on the vocal, you get a kind of 93' returning remix vocal, like holden used in nothing! i also did this "reverb-trick" in my satellite remix!;)

Tell me how;]
Klangzentrum
its not exactly like holden but i think its the way it works!

like mantisnl already said: reverse a sample, put a LONG reverb on it and reverse it again! with some compression and filtering it should be possible to recreate such a vocal!

heres a sample of what i did with the satellite vocals!
its just the reverb, nothing else in the sample!

Cool!
Any idea for reason's reverb?
Klangzentrum
im a fruity user, so i dont have any idea about reason!
but i think it should be possible to reverb your vocals in a sound-editing-program and then import it to reason...
Shahar
The 1st reverse should be only on the "word" that I want to drag?
and then the full vocal should come ?
and reverb effects all of them ?
What should be the length of the 1st reverse part?

and.. Can u upload your vocal without the reverb? I just wanna learn the structure..
Klangzentrum
theres no real structure in, what i did!
i just put one reverb over the whole track! i didnt set any attack points on the vocals! the reverb is "flying" over the whole vocals because of its long decay time! ive chosen a decay of 5 sec, so its a quite long reverb!
Floorfiller
yeah what they said...just reverse the vocal in a editing program (i use Soundforge) and then add reverb, flip it back around and voila...its a pretty standard effect...gives a sense of building up to the vocal part...

Hmm...can u put your vocal without the effects?

The reverse processing effect also works very well with a short delay. Gives a more stuttery feel.
