hi !!

i was wondering if anyone here had ideas about how to reproduce the famous claps airbase uses in his traxx and remixes. Those claps really make the track smooth and uplifting at the same time. But i can't get this sort of sound :( Any ideas ???? :gsmile:

I don't exactly know what clap you say, but I guess what kind of, that claps so sustained that they join with the open hat, aren't they?

First, that kind of clap you may use a standard clap sample. Then, if you want to add some reverb, try with a gated one, a bit diffused but with a narrow stereo. If you use a gated reverb you will get a longer clap (sharp ended) but without dirtying the mix too much.
But the attack of the clap is still too louder than the rest. You should make use of a multiband compressor or a peakstopper. If you choose to try a multiband comp you should emphasize (compress and add some gain) the bands from 1 Khz to 6 Khz and, especially from 6 Khz to the highest freq, with large release times and attack all you own!

A clap is also very benefited by compressing all the drums together, so that clap will grow when the kick ends and until the next kick.

I'm also looking for more tricks to improve claps and rythm loops.
