| Just be open minded an listen to everything... You'll have lots more fun... Trust... Don't just stick to techno... |

I'm not closed-minded. I still love alot of the stuff AVB plays... but he plays the same stuff every time, every set.
And i am also bitter that we don't get peeps like Vath, Hawtin, Picotto, etc more often in LA. It's not fair that NY, Chicago, Canada, Miami... they all get techno more often than we do. |

| Anybody know who usually has tickets available first for events such as these, I don't wanna miss Armin. I usually use Groovetickets but I don't see it listed yet. |

See Julia... once upon a time ... in a land far far away know as Los Angeles, techno was king... And like everything else, it got it's time of day, and now it's gone. Techno was huge, it got so huge that radio was banging techno all the time... Radio stations like Power 106, KIIS, KROQ, Mars, Renegade Radio, Rage 107, 96.7 The Vibe, and others were playing it on regular rotation. It was not rare to hear 2 Bad Mice and Joey Beltram's remix of Dominator on any of those stations. But eventually, people got tired of it and wanted to hear something new. I wish techno was as huge as it used to be, but quite frankly, I doubt it will happen soon. I love techno, and techno has been my music of choice since 1991 but there really isn't much I can do about bringing it back to LA. Well, kinda. I can start banging it, but I'll clear dancefloors. So I won't, until it gets bigger that is. Parties, we used to have so many choices. We had the regular club nights, plus the raves, plus the chearleaders in school used to do routines that evolved around techno. Man, I miss those days.
If you want to go to a techno party, don't look any further than your back yard. There's techno parties all the time, they're just kept more underground. Big headliners are not very affordable these days, so they mostly feature local DJ's which aren't bad at all. Droid Behavior does techno events all the time and they are good. I've been to a couple of them. They do everything from all techno house parties, to full on clubs. Check out their site to find out when their next party is. . http://www.droidbehavior.com |

ROFL... Dj Woody... I am not talking about the bull techno they used to play on Power 106. You know EXACTLY what I am talking about!!
But anyway, I was talking to some promoters from Spundae & Giant. They said they would LOVE to get i.e. Vath & Hawtin out here more often... but they charge too much, and the ecomomy in LA is doing really bad right now. |

Want Tickets and Groove usually have them at the same time. If they both have tickets for the same event available, I would much rather recommend you get it with Want Tickets. Why? Because they usually have 3 lines. One for Want Tickets only, one for Groove only and one for General Admission. When they do, the Want Tickets line is usually way smaller and it moves faster!!!! I've done it... |

I know what kind of techno you're talking about Julia... and believe me.. I'm not talking about the "bull" techno you think I am.. Powertools on power 106 was the s!!! Everyone used to look forward to that show because all the DJ's and new music used to get banged in there first... Power during the day played the commercialized techno, but afterhours was a different story...
LMAO...
About techno DJ's being expensive, I said that on my previous post...

If I get a free ticket, and I have nothing better to do... I'll be there. And that's only to check out AVB, to see if that man still has hope. I am giving him the benifit of the doubt. Plus, I all my friends will be there too. |
