| well if a lawyer has to be involved then im gonna have to forget it all. i did try, it was a polite request to remove the photos at first but he started being a cock. i'll let him be and leave her happy. |

A lawyer probably wouldnt be involved .. hes just using a scare tactic to get u off his case .. |

to prove copyright you have to prove original works. the law IN AMERICA states that you have to copyright by paying an agency. over here you can prove copyright in music by simply sending yourself a CD of the original works via special delivery, getting a reciept and a date of originality.
now with pictures (to which the same copyright laws apply) you can prove original works with many other ways. one being original data information such as you have already mentioned, and the data from your camera proving that it is your camera that the pics were taken with.
so basically, unless you live in america, you dont have to pay to get a copyright, so long as you can prove that you did it first in a very convincing way. my advice would be to tell the bloke to off, and then prove that you own the pictures by virtue of the GREAT BRITISH laws regarding the subject. im sure mag can find the applicable laws ;) |

| Once again, find out if the company is VAT registered, or at least find me there company name! Ill run some checks on them at work, and have a look to see how legit they are! |

The paying stuff is a bit different. That's normally for companies to use their original artwork/material for their business, so the paid copyright is a registered copyright or a registered trademark for a logo etc.
This means lots more legal stuff.
But basically it comes down to proof of original ownership. Agreed, its best to be registered etc or market, but there used to be a process where artists would seal a copy of their own work in an envelope and thenm send it to themselves, and not open it, so it was datemarked by the post office. With electronic publication the dates andstuff are stored on the jpeg, this is a bit more of a grey area, but he's just being a wanker, basically.
Bottom line is that without legal representation there isn't a lot you can do, however you migt wanna start posting the pics just about everywhere in the world, just to spite her. |

lol, i'll forget it all then cos no way do i have time to go through legal representation and stuff. Let them do what they want. We know they're wrong thats all that matters to me. Its only some stupid photo's at the end of the day.
Saying all this, because im not taking it any further i still appreciate all the time and effort people have gone into digging out info and facts and posting their knowledge on here and helping me with this, i really do appreciate it!!
I'll upload all 3 sets of photo's I took to some webspace.
