As We Grow Older....

I was thinking about this today... I was wondering who would still be listening to ANY genre of electronic music when we get older. I mean, of course, now i LOVE the hard, banging sounds that make me dance to freedom, but I'm not going TO BE ABLE TO STAND THAT BEAT say 20 years from now. It's kind of sad in a way... I best enjoy it while i can :) For example , the other day I put on some nice, mellow vocal trance and said "Mom, listen to this, you will like it," in which she replied "NO! Don't you understand? I can't stand noise now!" :( I mean, I'm trying to visualize myself spooning with my mate at night while listening to nice downtempo or trance at night, but I just don't see it.. :( BUT I SHALL TRY, LORD I SHALL TRY. It makes me sad, because music is a big part of my life and I don't ever want that to change. I think it's going to be hard because my mom loved music as well, always blaring rock n roll, dancing around and now she can't stand it:( All she listens to talk radio. I keep telling her she's NOT THAT OLD YET. I know everyone goes through phases as well, from rap to trip to country to salsa to polka or whatever. Maybe i'll covert to jazz but I hope I NEVER get sick of sound !!! bLAH. end of rant. Thanks !!! :p ;)

I'm always wondering if I will listen to edm when I get like in my 30s. Everyone I know that is older than 35, always says its juvenille muzik. I hope I don't end up as not that 40yr old in the club.

my dad is around 54 years old. Sometimes when were driving in the car, if im in the car, im always going to be listening to EDM. I remember i placed some Sasha and Digweed, Steve Lawler and he told me he liked it alot. I didnt even ask him if he liked it he just said "i like this music alot". He asked me "is this progressive?" i was kinda surpried he knew the name. But anyways he dosent know the djs or anything of the sort but he does like EDM. And to come and think about it, what else would i listen to when i get old? EDM all the way, its the music that has made a great impact on my life in a way, just like Frank Sinatra did for your parents..

everybody's different. when my mom ordered Trance Nation: Anthems and Trance Nation: Harder, the guy she's married to said he wanted me to give him a copy. and I know he's over 50. my mom even likes EM. i know i'll still be listening, just not sure what particular style. by that time, there will prob. be a whole new genre.

I agree with everyone. It is not about the age. I will be 27 years old soon, listening trance in the past 2-3 years, and i will listen in my 30s. Since i don't like pop, rock, rap, i guess i will stay at EDM for the next 30 years :)
