This is a thread for house music lovers ONLY.
If you don't like house music or aren't going to say anything useful, please don't reply.

Ok i'm a bedroom dj who spins house and i like to cross styles during my sets. I have some breakbeat records, some hardhouse and now i want some trance.

So what i'm looking for is trance tunes which combine well with house music. My house style is in the lines of Erick Morillo, he spins mellow-vocal house, but also cross styles a lot. I'm also starting to buy a few harder records, much in the style of DJ Vibe. My idea is to evolve to a style near Pete Tong, the guy is amazing, he spins EVERYTHING.

If you know some trance/prog. trance tunes which can combine well with my type of house, fire away!

Thanks, i really loved mint royale - i don't know.
However, most of that is really electro or house. What about trance or progressive trance? Anyone?
TrAnCeAkI
so are u looking for prog or trance or house ?

do u mean more in the lines of like

antoine clamaran? junior jack? maybe just a man? elaborate plz :P
DJ Dingel
I tend to think that tracks like Sasha - Golden Arm and Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body (Sander Kleinenberg's 1999 Remix) could transition into house fairly well... You can work from your breaks tracks into tracks by Hybrid, etc.
Freak
Well ive played stuff like:
Nalin&Kane- beachball (gabriel&dresden mix) and Greece 2000- three drives on a vinyl in a house set before....
Also stuff like chicane- offshore- classic but still a damn fine tune..

Dont categorise stylistically- think in terms of pace and energy content within a track

You can get away with playing practically anything if its played in the right context and in the right way.

do u know Balance 005 (2 cds) mixed by James Holden? it's a mix between several styles, electro, house and prog trance i think... very very nice anyway :gsmile:

Thanks for the replies people!

Tranceaki, yes i like Clamaran and Junior Jack.

Freak, yes i already to that. I like to style cross, but i need to ask about trance, since it's pretty much unknown territory for me and i seem to hate most trance...

I'll try to listen to those cd's Laughingfennec.
Spin Doctor
Saints & Sinners – Pushin’ Too Hard (Futureshock Remix)
tall paul 2
Sandy B - Make the world go round (Kid Creme Remix). Probably an inbetween house and trance tune..

Soleil Vert - Fantasy (Club mix)

Like TrAnCeAkI said.. Junior Jack and Antoine Clamaran id go for.. not too housey, but certainly not trance

Occasu
Try

Critical 7 - Lost (Descent Remix)

Kind of has some house elements
Laughingfennec
i forgot to mention this track :

Blank & jones - secrets & lies (Saints & sinners remix) quite repetitive but i love it!
