| Is there a scientific reason why your nose runs when its cold out? Running round the block today in the cold that question was bouncing round me head. What possible biological purpose does snot server anyways? |

It traps dust and small particles that normally would get sucked up into your lungs. The membranes in your nose release fluous mucous to keep your nose from drying out and freezing. :) |

there actually is a reason why it increases production of snot.
I forget why though, might be because cold temps and it needs to protect against cold viri. but don't quote me on that. |

I'm s-not saying ur wrong, but how would producing snot prevent you nose from freeze? Since i assume snot is water based element and water freezes ie snot freezes ie nose freezes. follow my logic or s-not? |

| The worst is trying to do coke when u have a cold. one time a got 1/2 a gram stuck in my snot, then i sneezed a couple of minutes later & most of it came out. what a waste of $40. |
