I posted this thought once on tribe and i got the usual load of bollacks for responses. The most common one was that torontians have more of refined taste then many other countries or something along those lines. However, i would beg to differ based on my clubbing expierence in the UK.
Thus let me put it too you then why has it not caought on?
Also let me ask this as well
Why is it that Godskitchen and gatecrasher have events in Australia new zealand and in hungrey even but not in canada?
Someone once told me that it would not sell here that the toronto market is to developed for it.
But i would think that with the usual line up for godskitchen that being armin, PVD fergie and mistress barabara in one night they would sell out in 5 seconds.
Also even the yanks have godskitchen now why is canada so far behind.
Considering how busy many places are with just one of the aforementioned djs
right well answer me then

Why? Because 90% of the major Toronto DJ bookings are controlled by a few individuals.

ummmm yea OK
why would u even care to see the name "godskitchen" at a party
what difference would that make to you?
?
like really? who gives a ! its only a NAME...
the DJS (pvd, avb, whomever else) u mentioned sell out clubs here regardless of there being some uk superclub name behind it or not
why would a club like guv be interested in a partnership with another company when they can clearly draw enough people by themselves to their own events...
that and i just dont think people here would really care for something like that! and to be honest, why would they?
 |

would be interesting to ask some of the local promoters this question .. i think that's prolly the best start

I think one reason why they would care is that i yet to see any promoters in canada book 5 quality djs in one night. Only at cream have i ever seen tiesto open for PVD or see mistress barabara followed fergies who then opens for armin and this is then finished with ferry. Honestly it is a quality experience hearing that much of amazing tunes in one night. Also the UK clubs put alot of emphasis on decorations for godskitchen the whole ceiling was filled with crazy ballons of submarines and vikings and those angels it was brilliant.
Also i think any intelligent promoter would team up with them. It would be like asking hmmm well why would franks car company want to team up with Audi or BMW when they can already produce thier own car and make some money. WHY ???? WHY?????
because they have immense amounts of capital to throw around and can probably bring over many more djs for less money due to thier constant demand. Economies of scale should be taken advantage of i would think.
However, i could be wrong but if they do it in other bussiness sectors why not this one?

ya i remember that but honestly it did not have the GC feel to it other than the lion and matt
hardwick
that and they didint bring thier usual line up bringing over a sheffield local would be like guv going to the UK for a night and then bringing along tim patrick he is good but not representative of the quality usually assoicated with it.
