Recently I've been wondering about all this people that get internet celebrity. I looked into it alittle bit and it was amazing. These kids obtain international celebrity over night.
For Example: without clicking on these links tell me how many of you people have seen these
The Star Wars Kid www.starwarskid.com
Or Aicha http://ebaumsworld.com/aicha.html
or like any of the other halarious clips of people on the net like the You Are An Idiot Webpages. I'm actually friends with the original maker of that and now there are like thousands of different types of You Are An Idiot webpages. It seriously messes with the kids who did it.
Like the star wars kid. He's all mentally ed up from being recognized everywhere, and he's all suicidal now.
Within two weeks that clip had spread around the entire globe, and the ammount of remixes of it (people added in proffesional lightsaber effects to it).
It's just crazy |

Anyway, making fun of other people is a very natural behaviour and unfortunately, some people take it to extremes (like publicising to the whole world how "pathetic" someone is). The mocked person has to have a very good emotional maturity to deal with it (and obviously, it all depends in the scale: if the person is being mocked by his close friends, it's just a joke, but when their acts are shown worldwide, this is pointless humiliation).
Sincerely, I never found neither the SW kid nor (now) Aicha to be funny. Instead, I prefer random stuff like "All your base", which has got to be the most famous hardcore tune ever :D
(If anyone is looking for the original producer of the tune, his/their name is "The Laziest man from Mars" or something). |
