I mean what style of EDM (trance, techno, dance, house, progressive, cheese...) prevails more where you live?

Here in my region looking at the music style of EDM clubs, radio programms, clubbers preferences... the most prevailing EDM styles are dance music (cheese dance like La Luna, Milk Inc., Dj Ross... you know...) and techno! (I have good luck to have good techno clubs around where I live:D ).

Do you jest?¿ I asked for EDM styles. An amount of clubs here also play latin and pop music. :whip:

Passionate EDM Fans - Progressive House, especially with melody. I guess it would make sense, since a lot of the big prog-house DJs in the world always mention their influence from San Francisco and a good number of great prog-house DJs are here. Behrouz is awesome - he's nominated for the best new DJ award in the DanceStar awards (SF is representin' for that award...him and G&D)

Crazy Clubber Roller Freaks - Trance.

Typically, Trance draws bigger crowds on average here...but at the same time, the crowd tends to be a bit tier where people are just loaded up on drugs and jumping everywhere and running over people. Basically, a lot of anger comes out of Trance nights compared to prog-house nights...

There are nights when the main room at the main club here, 1015, is rather empty but there are small local trance DJs playing in the basement or upstairs and those rooms will be crowded with idiots. I often love the music they are playing, but I have no desire to deal with the crowd and people running over me.

I swear, there's this one girl who is there ALL the time and she literally needs about a 10 feet x 5 feet space to move around in because her rendition of dancing is walking in circles while twisting her body. ed up thing is...when it's packed, she still does this ....she'll just run over you.

Anyhow, the average trance crowd here doesn't really give a about the DJs or even the song...they dance to whatever has fluff and a untz untz in it.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of passionate trance fans here, but they only tend to come out when a well-known DJ is playing...and on those nights, the club is fine. They are probably like me though...just don't want to have to deal with the typical crowd that's at the club when a local trance DJ is playing.

So the debate begins...Check this thread for an on-going Rap/Hip-Hop as an EDM form debate: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=158810

It's time for you to learn something my friend.

Oh, your latin and pop music comment makes no sense either. Latin music typically uses live percussion and instruments and pop music, aka "popular music", can be anything that the majority of the public enjoys.

After read the f*ng long thread....
First of all, I know the difference between POP music and LATIN music. Maybe you understood wrong my comment, I wanted say that also in here clubs play no EDM music like pop, latin music.

Secondly about Hip-Hop, Rap as an EDM style. I don't think so, cos' in Hip-Hop music mainly you listen vocals, the electronic part of Hip-Hop music i.e. the beat is not the mainly component of this style. In EDM the main component is the beat. I don't consider an EDM style one style that uses one Electronic machine. Why?¿ Then you consider some Rock, Pop artists EDM... cos' they use a synthetizer. In fact Sting has some productions with electronic effects, then do you consider him an electronic dance artist??
I dunno how to define EDM, but for me is a music made for dancing, with the beat as the mainly component. And we have to difference electronic music than Electronic dance music.
