First of all, I dont' hate anyone and I don't dislike many people, none of whom happen to be Finnish.
I'm a member of 2 forums, TA and DI. On each of them there is one person who just can't resist a relentless insult whenever the opportunity arises. Both of these people are from Finland. Is this just the general temperament of Finnish people? Do they have any idea that they are simply making themselves and their country look bad by acting this way?
In my (perhaps misguided) attempt to solve my own question I have decided that it may be because it's the only way for them to make themselves feel better while living in a country that's so downcast and melancholy all the time. So even though i'm not angry at them, I may feel a little pity for them if this is true.
Also, is it true that most Finnish people are depressed, anti-social, and boring in general? I saw something saying this on a documentary once. Correct me if i'm wrong. |

Misguided would be the key word here indeed.
Though this post certainly fits the typical american steretype perfectly. |

The funniest person on ta is from Finland (Sorry jp, but Nik really is hilarious :p), so, err, no. I've come across a lot of Finns on the Internet, and all of them seem like perfectly nice & normal people.
I could easily turn this back on you and claim that all Americans are right wing Christian fundamentalists and war-mongers. Evidently America does have a lot more religious loonies than other western countries, but to claim that all Americans are like that would be plain stupid. Kind of like what you just said about Finnish people, no?

yeah generalizing a whole country based on 2 people is extremely stupid.
try it for yourself. Pick out 2 random people form the us and generalize them to everyone in the us....including yourself.
it is more likely that those 2 people are just complete asses. I mean I am 120% positive every country has at least 2 jackasses running around posting stupid .
so never attack countries.....just the individual tards in the country. |
