As long as they don't stop any of the raves going ahead i'm happy.

I can enjoy myself with and without any enhancers.

Live and let live.

:nervous:

YOu should be prime minister, unlike selfish others i have the interests of the youth in general. I think its quite depressing, seeing kids as young as 14 with developing brains popping pills etc etc. Where are they gettting this trend from? from us. Cause its "cool" to go to an all nite dance party.

So i want to see you when your in your 40's and your 18 yo son/daughter starts attending raves. Im sure ull live and let live then

lmao.

this is what happens when paulie has too much time on his hands. won't even try to respond to that coz we all know paulie enjoyed Tiesto on NYE as much as anybody else :D

as for parents and death scene in a movie - mate they might as well not let you watch the news. REAL people get killed on there, and by worse things than drugs.

oh and those 14-16 yr old pill poppers.. that's the least of their problems. teenage pregnancy is on the rise. lil kids should stay lil kids and do lil kid things, instead of rushing to grow up.. and ending up regretting it or not being able to handle the responsibility.

LIKE I WAS SAYING TO HIM. I TOLD HIM: "TOP WITH ME AND YOU WON'T LEAVE."…SO I SMACKED HIM IN THE HEAD AND DOWNED ANOTHER CARLING - BADA BADA BING FOR THE LAD'S NIGHT. MAD FIGHT, HIS FACE'S A SAD SIGHT. VODKA AND SNAKE BITE. GOING ON LIKE A RIGHT GEEZ, HE'S A TWAT, SHOULDN'T HAVE LOOKED AT ME LIKE THAT. ANYWAY I'M AN UPSTANDING CITIZEN…IF A WAR CAME ALONG I'D BE ON THE FRONT LINE WITH EM. CAN'T STAND CRIME EITHER THEM HOOLIGANS ON HEROIN. DRUGS AND CRIMINALS THOSE THUGS ON THE PENNY COLOURED WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF SOCIETY…I'VE GOT ALL THE ANGER PENT UP INSIDE OF ME.

If I don't wake up friday morning, just know I was doing what I loved, I was with the people that loved what I loved, we were all happy, maybe too happy, but sometimes with all the going on in the world and your own life, you need to escape, take a different route, enjoy the times of feeling free and feeling like you actaully mean something.

I think a lot of ppl use raves to escape.

Ahhh the streets, poetry to my ears.

I agree with pointy.

Also let's all not drive cars anymore, there's loads of negatives there!

You know what i tend to agree with paul on this. When someone thinks of the term rave immediately negative connotations come to mind.
Why is that it could be due to several factors including the media's representation or it could be due to besides all the bull there isnt anything positive to come out of it.
Except perhaps if you were making money from it ie: being a drug dealer or dj.

As for the concept of making friends, well besides having common interests such as which drug you prefer to get ed on, what else is there really. I know someone who used to be a dealer a few years back, he knew everyone there was to know, seemed to be friends with everyone. One day the police came knocking on the door and guess what all these so called "friends" never called to see how he was and he never spoke to them again. Why, simply because he didnt have what they wanted.
Sad reality is you may meet "some of your friends" at these parties but at the end of the day you will meet 1000's of other wankas, who walking down the street you wouldnt even think twice about talking to them.

So to raise the drugs issue and why its always portrayed with the rave scene, well thats because it is influenced by it so much. They really should do a documentary on sasha ;) or maybe sven vath's antis at kyral a few years back, i bet that will open some parents eyes.

As for "well you can get killed in a car and well there are alcoholics out there"
How far do you want to go, humans shouldnt have legs because you can get killed walking down the street or should we just ban everything that is a threat to us?

The real beef i have is with the younger people who think "wow the only way i can enjoy myself is to flood my head with extra neurotransmitters" and sad reality is there are people out there who think like this. It is these same people who will generally overdose or get themselves into trouble because they arent educated enough. You can not stop people from taking drugs, nor can you stop someone from drinking alcohol. But if the new people out there who are thinking this is the way to go they really need to look at their motives behind it.

No on that comment.

I dont take drugs, never have, maybe never will. I go for the music, but as has been mentioned people do go just get mashed. The only time that bothers me is when i end up covered in someone elses sweat. Personally though i find taking pills more acceptable TO ME than idiots getting drunk and starting fights. As webmeister mentioned a crowd full of people on pills is going to behave a lot sociablly acceptable than a crowd of people full of piss listening to metallica and co. At least when it comes to major things like stabbing people with bottles. Dressing up in stupid clothes and eating chupa chups/sucking dummys with a bunch of candy on you will never be socially acceptable.

Meeting new people comment, ive never met anyone new that im friends with now at an event. It seems stupid to try and shout down their ear and talk about what your likes and dislikes while you can barely hear your self. Especially if they are high.

Benefits of the rave scene? recreation, fun, party with actual friends, have a good time, maybe get a bit of exercise if you dance enough. Now compare that to any other hobby/passtime, youll find the same benefits there as here plus or minus a few depending what you are comparing it too.

As for the escaping reality comment. Thats what a lot of passtimes are about. Playing video games? watching movies? reading books? People are trying to escape there lives into something different. If people decide to take drugs to do that, then fine. Who am I to stop them? However if your reality is so ed up you are constantly trying to escape it, then that will lead to problems down the road. And this relates to over using anything, be it drugs, movies, videogames. Some escapes are more dangerous than others though. Moderation is the key to everything. Just because channel 7 blows things up when their is an ecstasy, or even night club related death, doesnt mean its a blight on society. I think there are many other passtimes which have cultures a lot more negative than the rave scene.

I think that things are what you personally make them out to be. I go for the music and nothing else. Usually i walk away pretty happy. To me thats a positive.

Ps: im tired. there is more than likely to be spelling mistakes ahoy in this. and probably a few missed words here and there.
