Buying tables.....need advice

Well I’ve been talking for a while about getting tables, but looking over my finances, I think I’m ready to breakdown and finally buy some. I kept saying I wouldn’t buy them until I had like 2 g’s to drop on everything at once, but it’s really hard to save that kind of money lately since I have other financial priorities like school and getting a car. I think if I at least get 2 tables, I’ll be more inclined to save for the rest of my set up. So, what should I get (besides technics)? I’ve already had the chance to practice before on someone else’s and I was pretty good from the start. I practiced on a numark mixer (not sure the exact model). It was easy to use for me. Are numarks good?? What about needles etc.? Do they come w/ the tables? And how do you guys feel about buying used setups from people on ebay?
Thanks for any info. |

I personally bought used Tech m3d's on eBay. I highly recommend eBay, as used Tech's are (normally) as good as new, and most times come with needles and slipmats. On ebay, just make sure the seller has a few feedbacks, and do not assume anything is included unless stated.
As far as a mixer goes, I personally bought the Stanton sk 2f used on ebay. It's a fine mixer for my uses, although I'm not really recommending it as the greatest mixer for trance or anything. If you buy a used mixer on eBay, make sure that it isn't too old, and make sure that the seller has details and efects listed. |

Yes Numark are good!
TTX1 is a great turntable (in the techmk5 league and even better)
I'd go for numark cuz they are quality
It will cost you about 700-800 for 2TTX1 if you want somthing cheaper then check the tt-500 or tt-200.
And about mixers...how much are you willing to pay for a mixer? |

like $300....
as far as tables goes, i'm pretty set on buying technics...i didn't like the feel of the new numark tables...i didn't get to mix with them...just when i went record shopping. they reminded me of something made from playskool. |

300$ is not much...but you can get quality still
Nuamrk DXM06 should do it
it cost about 200-250$ and its a great mixer for its price...getting mine in one about a month and half |

| yea... i have a numark dxm-06 and its a pretty good mixer. has kills, 3 band eq, adjustable slope for the crossfader, reverse, 12 effects. overall its good for the 200 dollars i foudn it for. however if you can spend up to 300, i'd get a vestax or something. check this one out. http://www.hollywooddj.com/vestaxpcv150.html or you can prolly find it on ebay as well. but for something like a mixer, i'd rather get it brand new rather than used. as for technics, i got 2 m3d's from ebay for 530, which included ortofon dj-e carts. so just look aroudn for a good deal. |

| Unless you are within driving distance of hollywooddj.com, do not order anything from them. Ive had issues with them and had to file a complaint with the BBB. Stay away from that store. |

| yea, well i DO speak chinese. and no, it doens't take long. i basically figured everything out on my own. i've never actually ordered from hollywooddj, but i've seen that they have low prices. but if vlad says to stay away, i guess take his word for it. i'm assuming they prolly sent you (vlad) a bad product? |

Go with 2 TECH MK5s or get 2 used TECH M3Ds. Most of the time people take care of these babies like it was their life. So it's a safe bet that even if they're used, they're going to last you a while.
$300 for a mixer? A good beginning DJ mixer is the Stanton SMX-401 or the Numark 3002X.
If you're ordering online, there's no other place like:http://www.pssl.com |
