well, I'm jewish. and I have lots of reasons to beleive in god.
but I don't really think that there is really someone standing there in the heavens, controling the earth. so I don't really beleive in god.
but I beleive in higher power... I beleive in destiny... meaning whatever was ment to be - will happen no matter what. |

well, the jews wrote the bible, the whole bible is about the jews, words like Jerusalem, jewish, and Israel are mentioned about 378903262632973675094687946476498 times in there, the jewish people pray with it...... I think that the bible IS the jewish religous book..... the jews are mentioned alot in the cristian bible too, but that's a different story........
I think an Islamic shoudn't judge a jewish and the bible.... cause he is not even related to them (well, according to the bible, the islamic people and the jewish people are cousins, but hey, you get my point.. :)). they have the Koran as a bible and they are so different from the jewish people....... |

there is a god...
that doesnt mean i think he still gives a damn about us...he created us..and when he saw that he could no longer control us..he left...sure he was there in the beginning...he tried to make the world a better place...sending his son...the whole moses thing...blah blah but once he saw that we couldnt be helped...he left...and we are here to fend for ourselves and pray that maybe once he will return to help those who are suffering. but its not gonna happen...the world..think of it as a game...cuz thats all it is...a game. u can either sit and wait for god to help you or u can get off ur ass and do it yourself...and when you do...you have it all....thank yourself...lol all these people thanking god......he only provided you with the oppertunity to get what you have...he didnt give it to you...like say you win the lottery...he didnt buy the ticket...he didnt make the money to buy the ticket...anyone understand what im saying??? |

I believe that there is a God.....he created us, and he is there...
however, my view on religion is different, just look at it, everything that is enjoyable in life, is banned by religion.....people trying to get u to pray and goto church/mosque/synagogue/etc.....and all that, people telling u dont do this, or that is bad, after meeting people like that, i chose to move away from religion, I still believe in God, but I also believe that this is something only between you and God, you don't need somebody to tell you what to do, you can't follow things word by word as it is said on paper because life is not gonna be what u expect it to be, and its not what it used to be when these books were written |

i am a Christian and i do believe in God. peeps at this point usually crack some joke cuz my nick is lost. anyways.... i think God exists and that He still intervenes in our lives. it's nothing dramatic like a booming voice from the clouds or anything like that, but there are times when things work too coincidentally. if you know what i mean. of course the skeptic would believe that it was a very coincidental day but to each his own. also i believe that if God didn't intervene in my daily life that most days would be a lot worse than they sometimes are. anyways.... i'm not here to start an argument. only to throw in my two cents for whatever they're worth. and that comment about religion causing people to do wars. nowhere does God condone violence as a solution to anything. in fact the example that we are supposed to live by is turn the other cheek. now a lot of peeps would call us wimps or some other nonsense but that's what ghandi used to get the british out of india isn't it. you have to understand that people misinterpret the Bible quite often and they do irrational things in the name of God which makes us look bad in the eyes of the public. and then we get blasted for it over and over again and it is not what our religion says to do but what one misguided soul took it upon himself to do and claim it in the name of the masses. you see if you want the straight truth you gotta go to the source which, for me, is the Bible. sure i go to church every week (not cuz i have to but cuz i want to) and listen to the pastor, but i'm not gonna necessarily believe everything he tells me. my pastor is not God. he is just a man, and he is open to misinterpreting the Bible just like everyone else. i'll listen to him and hear his two cents and then i'll go and read it for myself and look up stuff for myself cuz that's the only way to do it. there is so much more i could say but i'll stop now. oh yeah and i'm a scientist myself and for all the peeps that like to hide behind evolution please pm if you would like to discuss this matter cuz i'm always open for debate.

I'm an atheist, like many others(great philosophers, inventers). I wont go into why i dont believe in your God, his God, Her God, or their Gods.. but i want to ask all you believers.. Have you ever read your "Holy Book" front to back? Make sure when you read the Bible front to back you have a science book cause i know damn well that if plants were created before the sun they would die.
You have to think about a world without religion, there wouldnt be as much hate. I cant hate that Jewish family cause well.. they're not Jewish. I cant hate the Baptists for the same reason.
Before you say you bow down to some Almighty God make sure you know about him, read his words, look at his folowers(the good and bad).
Most importantly remember that people KNEW the world was flat, so its alright if you KNOW god exists.
i dont want to make anyone mad, one last comment if you live in the US take out some money and tell me what it says? In God We Trust.. thanks, they sure do care about the atheists in this country |

"in my opinion a jewish shouldn't judge the bible because it's not his religious book"
Heres something also for you to consider.
You shouldnt curse anothers god for they may well be the same one that you beleive in.
After all, neither of you eat pork ;)
Judaism is one of the world's oldest religions, being founded around 2000 BC. It is based on the belief in one God, who created all things and who, through his special covenant with Abraham and his descendents, has chosen to reveal Himself to the world through the Jewish people. God is seen as both a merciful, loving deliverer, and also a powerful, just and punishing God. God is also the creator of the world, and the Book of Genesis says that he created in six days and rested on the seventh. In such a way, God is viewed as sovereign over the events of the world, including suffering, and is also personal, and desiring of a relationship with people.
Christianity was formed out of Judaism, being founded by Jesus of Nazareth. Better known as Jesus Christ (meaning 'Messiah' or 'Annointed One'), Jesus was conceived by the virgin Mary and born in the small Israeli town of Bethlehem around 1 AD. He grew up into a man in the remote north of Israel, and began his preaching and healing ministry at the age of 30. Three years later, at the commencement of the Jewish Passover, Jesus was unjustly crucified on a cross by the Roman authorities at the request of the Jewish Sanhedrin (Religious Council).
Islam was founded by the Prophet Muhammad. Muhammad was born in the Arab city of Mecca in around 570 AD and exposed to Christian, Jewish and tribal beliefs, before beginning a preaching ministry in 610 AD. He believed that he had been sent to warn and guide people and to call them to worship God. He taught that there is only one God and that he, Muhammad, was God's messenger. Islam (meaning submission), is opposed to any sort of idol worship, and Muhammad's followers became increasingly opposed to the tribal, idol worshipping religion of the Arabs. This frightened the people of Mecca, who forced him and his followers to go to Medina in 622. By 630, Muhammad and his followers were strong enough to return to Mecca and conquer the city. The spread of Islam throughout the Middle East and North Africa began, with conquests launched from Mecca and Medina. Muhammed died in 632, but the empire continued to grow under Jihad (holy war) and within 100 years, under the leadership of the Caliphs (Muhammad's successors), the Muslim empire stretched from Spain to India.
Sorry about all the letter, I just felt like writing and I saw a trend of bigotry developing, hope someone learns something from it.
(then again you should be wise to avoid taking advise from nasty little girls called Lilith :P hehe!) |
