| everything is so damn hidden away for the sake of aesthetics that it takes like 10 steps to find a file or do anything, whereas it used to only take 2 steps on OS 9 |

Hey Beema,
Mac is a lot easier to use if you come from a unix background. All the standard shell commands are there and them some ;)

Yeah that's cause they took a lot of the core code from the FreeBSD people. |

| OS X is da bomb. it does take a bit of getting used to especially if your used to OS 9 but i think its alot nicer. my computer hasnt crashed in almost 2 years. |

| This may be anathema to some, but I'd rather have my computer crash 2 times a year but have an intelligent layout and high compatibility (as with XP) than for my computer to never crash but have major compatibilty issues and interface problems (as with OSX). |

If you use it for a couple of weeks more you'll probably realize how much better OS X is.
You say that you have problems to find your files fast. On XP you go to Start > Programs > Program folder > Whatever.exe
On mac you have your favorite applications on the dock or else you use the excellent Finder which is really customizable on Panther (10.3). Favorite folders on the left part of the screen. If you put your applications folder on the dock you can reach all the applications by holding the mouse button down btw.
You have the exposé on the mac which is great for jumping between windows (only in Panther).
You have a beautiful vector based OS which makes it alot nicer to work, but thats a plus not the main point.
The main point is the stability. And if you're on Windows, its not about your system crashing only two times per year. It was at least two times a week on every PC I've owned over the last 10 years.
Other than that, there's no viruses since no one are going to spend their time on making a virus that only 5 % of the market is going to be affected by.
As for programs I only miss one of them (3d Studio Max).
To me its more functional, beautiful and stable. |

| I don't care what you're running, if your PC is crashing twice a week it's due to your misuse rather than faulty programming. I use XP and I can't remember the last time the actual OS has crashed. |

i like mac tho, i would get one, except i like to play games sometimes and mac has none |
