Depends on the course you have done, i went to the test uni possible and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone yet, i landed the best job i could find. They interviewed 100 people and only 5 got the job, so the odds were against me.
Personally i found that it came down to the marks you get and they way you carry yourself.

I find also that different universities have their strengths in different areas.

Take engineering for example (talking about what i know). This ranking places Melbourne University above Monash, which as a whole may well be the case, but in in terms of engineering, Monash offers a much stronger course, which translates to a more respected degree in the industry.

However in the field of applied science (a friend of mine's course), a Melbourne University degree carries greater signifigance. And reputation must also be taken into account, the history and pride of the institution influence the degrees, so whereas a science degree from Monash may be of similar standard to one from Melbourne (as the Dean of Science believes), a degree from Melbourne holds greater respect in industry simply because its from Melbourne University. And respect in the industry is what its all about, after all a degree is a means to a professional position in industry.

over here, for engineering, it doesn't matter nearly as much which university you come from out of. Our engineers are a 'closed profession' like doctors and lawyers, and are comletely self regulating. As a result, any university offering engineering courses must be accreditted by the Ontario Engineering Society and their courses must offer the challenge and difficulty level stated by the society. As a result, the engineering programs are almost uniformly difficult, with exceptions to certain schools that deem it necessary to punish their students further in the name of 'reputation' [my school included]. Stupid me, taking the hardest fricken eng program in one of the hardest frickin schools on the fricken continent, when no matter where I go, I still get ripped off with a $60,000 piece of worthless iron jewelry at the end.

Well I'm from Canberra, and I can honestly say it doesn't have much (I wish we had a beach). Sure there's plenty of weed, but it doesn't equal out. There are only a few good clubs: Insomnia, they play good electronic, mostly techno, the trance is mostly exciting sort (I'm nu to trance =]).
Mooseheads, good club.
Academy club, also Minque, and Shooters (2 dollar drinks!), Cube if you bowl for the other team, and lot33. Most of them are in the city and about 30 seconds to 5 mins walk from each other.

no one else done perth as yet (SHOCKING!) so here goes...

possibly the greatest city in australia (no offence to east-coast people), though the trance scene is average, only church nightclub and rise nightclub offer nice trance, church is better because they play more recent release (DJ Riki) and as the night goes on the harder beat comes out (DJ Kenny L)
Rise is OK but not as good as church, if you like r'n'b, go visit metro city every saturday night (r'n'b superclub) to watch a bunch of wannabes rappin on the stage (sometimes you'll find good, raw talent on show)

why is it the greatest city i hear you asked..?? well..drive 200kms south of perth and you'll find 100's of wineries, some regarded as the best in the world. we are famous for our red wines, and im sure a quick visit to this areas will make your stay in WA better (busselton, yallingup, margaret river, mount barker, albany). Please make sure if you come to perth, go down south, you won't regret it: fantastic beaches, fantastic surfer chicks (...and i mean FANTASTIC), and excellent wineries.

Now on the other hand, if you go up north, what will you find..?? DR VAN BUUREN..hehehe yes thats right, armin's parents are here in WA, residing in the small city called geraldton (i believe...) and around december - early march you'll come across armin and/or armin's bro if you look careful enough.

PUBS AND S... few of the famous ones are left bank, the cott, rivervale hotel. the cott is a good place to visit, especially on the weekend. be sure to visit little creatures brewery in fremantle, their pale ale is regarded as one of the best beer in australia.
other place to visit is you're looking for chick are leederville hotel, and the deen.

PLACES TO EAT...if you love steak, victoria station in burswood, it is in my mind the west steak restaurant in perth. Seafood place go to Kailis in leederville, Italian restaurant go to Ciao Italia in South Perth, chinese/asian there are plenty around, the good ones are uncle billy's in northbridge, han's cafe (they're everywhere). but THE BEST restauant/bistro in perth is RIVERTON HOTEL RESTAURANT, cheap, massive serving size, and taste bloody good.

well...that's all for now, i dunno what else to add

the transportation is pretty good, at the moment its traffic everywhere because they are doing work for the south rail line, but normally you'll be able to catch either bus, train, ferry, and taxi (if you really rich)

average temperatures is about 13-18 degrees in winter, and 25-35 degrees in summer, so its not bad...

if you go here, go down south, you'll get away from all the fashionable chicks and find basic, simple, girl-next-door type chicks with tight tank-tops and surf pants...
