when i am single ear monitoring i always have the headphones on my right ear. for amusement i thought i would try the other way around thinking it wouldnt be that much differant.

OH MY GOD!!!

its weird and impossable!:whip:

give it a try and tell me if you have problems too.

I'm used to both split mixing and complete headphone mixing, so it wasn't that bad acutally.

Confused though :)

It's a matter of practice. I switch now and then and got no problems.

It's useful to practice both ears, cuz you never know what side the monitors will be in a club.

I only use single ear monitoring, except that I switch from ear to ear every track... If the turntable on the right is the cued track then I have my headphones on my right ear, and on the left ear if the track on the left is cued. I feel its easier to associate which track is being played in the headphones, as the cued track is "closest" to my ear. I hope that made sense.

But yes I tried doing it the other way around and I found myself adjusting the pitch of the wrong record as it seems "backwards" for me. Hope that made sense too :D

my hearing is better in my right ear so naturally i use my right ear. lol

but i can use my left if i have to. i just rather not. doesn't feel right for some reason.

Want to start doing this put keep putting it off.

I use my left ear for the headphones and find it really difficult if I use the other ear.
