i agree with so many posts in this thread (trance-x, taub, beema, tranz, aya brea, scottaculous)...
nyc forums used to be fun and informative! now it's very "clique-ish", immature, threads are full of conversations, and if you post a comment that the small majority doesn't agree with, you are flamed.
this used to be a pretty friendly board, i used to post here, now i'm almost embarrassed to tell anyone i'm associated with it.
i don't think that getting a new mod will solve it. i just think i've grown up and out of the board.
made a few really good friends through it, and for that i will always have fond memories of TA. :) |

I personally think the biggest reason for needing a new mod are the small things like.. merging, moving posts.. a new sticky for events.. i personally think it would be nice to have a sticky for each month with upcoming events since there are soo many.. and only do up to 3 months at a time!.. and of course mod be deleting stickys as months come to an end!
I loved TA because of the reviews btw!.. even if it is the same 15 peeps...
If it wasn't for what some of the people on here have said I may not have taken the chance to go out on some of those nights that have created the best memories for me!
I respect the opinion of a lot of people's reviews on here...

well im not one to bitch
but a couple people on these forums I met in person were really cliquy and rude, I wont mention names cause im really not losing any sleep over it. I didn't join this forum to make 101 friends, I joined this forum to talk about music I love (or at least once loved). |

there is always the mod-problem:
Does this board (I'd rather not say we, since I barely ever post anymore) need a hard or a soft mod? Is the garbage too much, does the mod need to clean up the board, so that it is a TRANCE board, or should it be seen more as a social board? I think a couple of weeks (2-3) or hard handed modding (deleting ALL and ANY posts that contain nothing of value) would be a smart solution. Yes, I used to be a MAJOR post-whore, but I (ja this is personal oppinion) think that the board has gone down the crapper. I really appreciate threads like Tom's where he posts vital Party information. A mod should be able to take care of those threads first and foremost. It would be nice to see tom's thread depleted of the garbage and reduced to a single post/ page.
I think that there is a lot of potential in this forum, since I believe it is the best way to get news to other people who are looking for party information, reviews and some people to hang out with, but the FLOOD of garbage has grown so that it takes too long to sort through it to find the good stuff.
The PPR was somewhat helpful, since it allowed the people that wanted to 'chat' and be active more socially to post there, trying to keep the rest of the threads on a lower level of 'junk' posts.
Unfortunately, the garbage problem is not unique to NYC, at least one other forum that I frequent has the same problem and it does have an active mod. |

i've noticed clickiness in threads too, and also downright stupidity. i used to post on TA waaaaay more than i do now, but the overall blatant disrespect from some people is outrageous. when people give you such ty repsonses to your opinions, it makes me never want to post. i think you do grow out of TA, for example, for some strange reason i used to love the chillout room, and now it is filled with immature, rude children...and it sucks that i am starting to say the same for NYC.
hopefully it will improve but i doubt the idea of getting a new mod will change that... |

ive only been an active poster for about a year and a half. And I can tell u there IS clickiness maximus. The music discussion forum became a bigger dick contest on who knows more about trance, and newbies get flamed for asking questions. The Political forum is a constant war of ideas, the gaming forum and sports forum are now a barren wasteland. Everyone is a hippocrite on MP3s.
Where's the love guys?
I met some cool ass people off TA, and woulda liked to meet some more but lots of people carry a holier than thou attitude on their backs. |
