But you have to see it for what it is when you're watching it. If you come out of the theatre thinking "consumerism is bad! I'm never shopping at Gap again, or driving my car again!" then the people who made the film are just as bad as the corporations, taking advantage of those who don't think think their actions through before doing.

I think discussions like this are not pointless - would you rather that this board be saturated with event postings and picture threads and void of intelligent discussion?

You are right. I was just passionately writing what I thought about this topic, and sometimes one becomes inconsiderate and close minded when doing so. I have to apologize for that. Sorry.

The funniest was the guy from Phizer who couldn't get the intercom to work. That was gold, also its scary that they can patent genetic makeup and dna of anything non-human.

Good film but a little bit extremist/left wing
good film though

The point is that the food is not "unhealthy", the food is perfectly fine. y youThe only difference is that it contains alot of calories.

If you believe that, I strongly encourage you to read a book like "FatLand" or "Fast Food Nation."

Not only are these meals high in calories, they are FULL of trans-fats and the ingredients are as processed as you can get. White bread, processed cheese, "special sauce" - need I go on?

Don't tell me that the difference between a big mac meal and a nice greek salad is the calories.

It all comes down to the individual.
If you can work the meal off, ie exercise, then you're game.

No.

If you are replacing a McDonalds "meal" with one of your regular meals, then you aren't getting adequate nutrition.

Being able to "work it off" is only part of it.

Of corse I do, you're just brainwashed to believe processed foods are 'unhealthy'.

A complete McDonald's meal has food from all the 4 food groups. The problem is that it doesn't contain enough of each. So over a long period of time, people start to develop nutrition defficiency IFF they eat ONLY McDonald's.

This thread is interesting, to say the least...

BTW people, there are two sides to each coin, so try and see the other side of the corporate society/McDonalds food issues.
