This is a remix I've done for a tune inn competition. I'll be sending it in next week before the deadline and was hoping to get some feedback on it before doing so. It's kinda a dark electro techtrance type tune. It has a lot of similarities to Driven, though unintentionally so, hehe.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated, enjoy!

Link isn't working mate. I tried copying and pasting the whole thing in another browser and that didn't work either. Too bad, I wanted to hear this one.
Sirocco
try it now

I fixed the link, but looks as though the server is having some difficulties. Keep trying I guess, I'll let you all know when it's working again.
DjCommisad
i like it, no qualms, haven;t heard the original though.

little short in length for my tastes, but that's just a personal note =)

btw, i finally got buzz, but wont get to touch it til late april, maybe you'll be so kind to give me a run through mate or some samples to mess with =D

Link is working and server is functional; pardon the delays =)

Edit: Cheers for the reply. I actually shortened it 2 minutes from the original remix that I did based on the feedback I'd received from others. I think I may lengthen it a minute before submitting,

heh, i was gonna say something to you on msn, but a. you aren't on, b. i forgot it anyways.

Yeah man, I'm definitely into this kind of stuff. Bassline work is great. That bass/melody rocks. It reminds me of the good old days.

Biggest let down was the percussion. Although it sounds fine and it works, I reckon that it leaves room to make the track stand out. It's just to simple to the ear.

That bit at about 5 minutes just before it kicks back in, its a little bit loud. I would consider taking it down a couple a dB so that it doens't drown out what comes in after it.

Another thing you could try doing is sending the percussion to a sub channel with a lp filter on it. When you take out the kick for a bar (I noticed you did it a couple of times), bring in the filter and sweep it with high resonance. It can sound really nice in techy productions.

Just giving suggestion though. Otherwisem, it does sounds very nice and I liked listening to it.

Wicked, thanks for the pointers. I'll try out that resonance trick for sure.

Percussions are something that I worked on a lot, but I agree with you. There are layers upon layers, but they're lacking a certain depth that's present in a lot of techno tunes, probably from the low-midrange area that you mention.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do some tweaks.

Wow, this one has some wicked perc, realy like them :D. Dont like the melody though, but i guess its a taste matter.
Cheers Sean, havent heard the original but this is sure a dancefloor tune :D.

Cool man, glad you liked it. I've made some updates and submitted it, Pete Gawtry liked it a lot so we'll see, hehe. Dropped it at the club last night and it rocked big time, so that made me happy =)
