How'd you get your professional name?
View this Thread in Original format
Kevin
Just curious how all you DJ's out there got your professional names. Did someone give it to you, did you choose it yourself? Did you suddenly have some great awakening where this perfect name just popped into your head?
I havent chosen one yet, so for now i guess its just DJ KevinT.
But i think thats kind of boring, so i have been beating my head against the wall trying to think of something just right, but i got no ideas. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Kev

just sit down with some friends, make a list of 20-40 names and start kickin out those that obviously suck;)
When you got three or so left, pick one.
And don't think about it too much, there are some REALLY successful DJs with names that suck A**. Especially in Germany:clown:
Hope this helps...

I got my dj name from my teacher from school.. A wicked guy who always gave nicks to people. Mine was Cripsen, cuz my real name is crispen. Now im Dj Cripsen

good luck with the name
DJ_Shockwav
i got mine from the tv one day...
i was watching this rocket truck race, and it was called the "Shockwave" and i thought, wow, that's a cool name...
so to make it sort of individual, i dropped off the E and the end and now i'm Shockwav
j_spot
well..mine came to me during a drunken stuppor...a friend said whats up j_spot and it stuck..I dont use it often tho...my shows are usually for underage crowds. so a name like j_spot(and my boss Deez Nuts) arent really appropriate. WE just used em @ college shows

NO - Go to 5.

4) What's your name? - That's your DJ Name.

5) Add 'berg' to your last name. Put 'van' between your first and last name. Change any single a to aa and put an umlaut on all the vowels (i.e. ä, ë, ï, ö and ü.) Pronounce avery w as a v and change any -ing endings to -en.

Happy customers who have already used this system:
Master Stepz, Matt 'Jam' Lamont, Spoony, Shanks, John Spice Rack. (OK, made that one up!)
