ok i am getting a set of Ortofon carts to repace my ty ass Stanton 500-II. I am debating between the concord DJs, and the concord nightclubs. its gonna be spherical syli either way. any recomendations?
one more thing, this is a thread about Ortofons, i know alot of people in here would have sex with their whitelabels if they could, but i dont want to hear about it. im not hating, i have spun with both Ortofons and Whitelabels and just prefer the Ortofons.
Thanks everybody.

| I would go with the Concorde Nightclub... I have issues with Ortofon though... After awhile, connectivity with the 1200's is lost... I suggest using the headshell version better... |

I believe they have re-engineered them to fix this issue. They 4 little metal tips that connect in the tone arm used to be straight. This caused connectivity problems over time if the carts where taken on and off a lot. Now they use a rounded metal nubs instead.
On a related note, if you are having connectivity issues avoid the temptaion to lick the metal plugs. This is only a temporary solution that will only speed the corrosion process. Try cleaning them with alcohol or something (not beer but rubbing alcohol).
On to the recommendation. I have a friend who had nightclubs and really loved them. He has since gotten Whitelables and now misses his nightclubs so I think you are doing the right thing. I have another friend who uses the DJ S and loves them. On the huge Ortofon thread awhile ago on futureproducers an Ortofon engineer was saying that the differences between them are really small and it is more a matter of personal preference rather then better specs. Therefore I would try them both out if you can.
I currently use the silver ones and am going to get the DJ S because I hear they are great (and they are cheaper than the nightclubs). |

A dj i work with extensively swears by the Dj S and i swear by the nightclub S. Both are awesome.
The main difference is the stylus tip is smaller on the Nightclub.
Personally i find the luminous stylus a bit better (especially at clubs with broken cue lights on the turntables)
Replacement nightclub stylus are slightly more expensive, but not a vast amount.
I also think the nightclubs look better.
oh yes and ive seen pvd using nightclubs in the past  (well im sure someone will buy them purely on that basis.)
www.ortofon.com for the specs of the stylus.
You wont go wrong with either |

I have the nightclub S's CC, and I think that they are great sounding stylii.
I am acutally curious to see opinions from people that have used the elektro's. |

I am an OM freak, so that's what I have.
I have the DJ-S mounted on Tech M3D headshells.
:wtf:
I guess it really depends on your budget. Me, I just happen to like the DJ-S. |

only the needle is different, and yeah you can put a nightclub needle on a pro dj s shell. cheaper too.
