Yeah everyone almost agrees, Ferry Corsten was better this weekend. Most of these NYTA's didn't even go,I went and I live in VA. No excuse because I was Dan S. & Danny Howell on Firday and I was out of it also but I still went to see Ferry Corsten. But over all Ferry in Avalon NY was just the best and the TA love was Uber :gsmile: |

Who said anything about prog?
Danny Howells must be your style, although i have heard ppl say that they didnt enjoy howells at all and they spin prog house/house out in ST. Louis.
Ferry prob just isnt your style, good reason for you not being impressed, but you must admit that there was a certain type of energy there. i def didnt feel that at pvd

no, not really. i've been a dutch trancer for the past 6 years and i've seen Ferry live over 10 times (i lived in Holland). there was energy though, true, but i didn't like the general vibe at Avalon. most of the people there only knew Ferry for Punk. i don't know, i think Ferry's current djing style is boring, although i liked some tracks like his F Massif remix, that was massive. so was Sahara...
Howells was simply more intense and more fun to dance to. oh well, to each his own.... |

yes i definitly agree to each his own.
I dont know if ya saw me i was wearing the Dutch nat'l jersey. I am sure if you were there long enough that you had to see me at least once. Of course i was wearing the orange one not the blue one.

i remember seeing u all around the dance floor... u gotta admit some djs can have off nights too u know? and sometimes, the individual themselves just doesn't feel up to it and thus doesn't like the music at all being played on a particular night. *sigh* i just wish people would stop flaming each other for what they like or didn't like about a particular DJ or night. this isn't directed at anyone in particular actually and is probably suited for another one of the illustrious threads in the ny forum. having said all that, i gotta say that while pvd rocked my world friday, ferry just rocked it a little bit harder. |

ah yes. i am pretty sure you were upstairs standing next to me for awhile taking pics of ferry.
And i do agree that bashing on dj's isnt really that cool. I know i can fall victim of this myself sometimes, but it depends on so many factors to make it an amazing night. TO me Ferry did that on sat.

I SO 10000% agree. Bashing and flaming a DJ after a poor performance is lame and immature. Dunno why I even comment on it right now, guess b/c you put it so well. If a DJ's sets go downhill, continously for, say, 1 year, then it may be time to bash his DJ qualities. But a poor set? Gimme a break. I am the biggest PvD fan on the planet, having seen him 42 times in the last 40 months, but I am ready to admit that this time Ferry outplayed PvD. All of course "IMO", as always. It's all down to personal perception and taste.
Peace. |

A night is only what you make of it, you can go on and bash pvds set as much as you want. You argue about his flow, but as far as i know, paul kept the crowd dancing strong for 6 strait hours, which is a feat in itself... |
you are right, but then again of course people will dance; it's not that the music as such was bad. Just the flow was missing. And the reason we criticize that fact is that we are spoiled (I know I am, see my post above), expecting 100% perfection every single time, which of course is unrealistic.
There is no right or wrong, we are all right in our own way. That's how it is with OPINIONS, as opposed to FACTS. |
