I had wikked time!! More fun than I had bargained for. ;) :haha:
The Scumfrog, I thought was better than the first time...and towards the end, I didn't want to leave because he was playing some really nice tunes, but, my bed was calling, so I left at 7:30. He really threw down a wikked set!!! :eyespop: :crazy: :eyespop:
2nd time at Boa (in 2 weeks) and it was much better, the lineup outside (thank you ;))and coat check wasn't taking up as much time compared to 2 weeks ago for Satoshi... the staff has always been friendly. It wasn't as rammed as 2 weeks ago, but it was great, just enough room to dance.
And of course, no party is a party without TA's. :D It was great partying with all of you! Shoutouts to those I met throughout the course of the night - you know who you are. ;)

Holy friggin late review batman.
Took me a while to recover from a crazy weekend. This night to me, will simply be remembered as "The night TOTA took over Boa". The vibe was just incredible amongst our great people on this board, and i could give two s about the other people there who didnt know how to have a good time. Everyone was in fine form on this night. And how couldnt you be? Plenty of room to dance, some of the dirtiest dance friendly beats banging into the early morn.
Sean Miller started the night out just as he did for Sander K....freakin phenomenal. I thought after seeing him once, that maybe he just got lucky with a great set, and it couldve been possible his set was enhanced by the amazing system. I was totally wrong with that call. He was bang on. Every mix was flawless, tracks flowing so perfectly i could barely make out where one song began and the other finished. Electro, chuggy, deep, sexy beats one after the other. He even played what has been my fav track for months now (i think its called "Phat Dope ").....had me goin crazy! Great warmup.... warm, that was HOT.
Scumfrog hits the decks. The guy just brings pure electricity to the table when he graces the decks. Hes got almost a rock star quality and really is a complete performer as well as a hell of a producer. Oh yeah, a pretty good dj too. Great tracks throughout his set, i think it matched his set at System, maybe a touch better. Technically though, i noticed that around 7am or so a few glitches here and there but im really just gettin picky now. Kept me burning up the dancefloor all night long, to the point where i had rug burn on my knees so bad i was bleeding. I know, im a in floor addict what can i say ? Closed the night to see a lot of TA's still around, said my farewells and made our way down to "The Zone", just intime to catch Deko-ze @ 10:00. |

Here's my proper review, finally.
First off, thanks to my posse of froggy washcloths in the crowd. ;) Personally, I thought it was sorta fun to throw that sort of puppet show while dancing, getting the frogs to 'sing' to the lyrics. Jesse had a good laugh about it too, & I even sent him home with his own frog.
I'm really happy that SO MANY TA's made it to Boa for their 1st time, for a non-trance event, and SO HAPPY that Scumfrog lived up to your expectations, considering many of you have never even heard a single song or set of his. You now see why he is one of my favorites.
To those who had to leave early: u missed the best part. Out of the 5 hrs 20 mins, the 2nd half was pure MINT! That was when things really got me moving. SO many of his great productions and remixes with his signature sound were dropped. Gawd I love his sound.... at points, I actually started to think there were frog sounds in his songs, but that was probably my mind wandering.... :crazy:
I have to say the best tunes had to be the remixes of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" & Duran Duran "Save a Prayer". Flashback to the 80's! What about that track "Another ing Love song" thats due to come out soon? Now THAT is a TUNE!!! Near the end, there were some seriously dreamy moments. His 3rd from last song was a great wind-down tune, & was really hoping he'd drop my request for his remix of "Days go By", but he didn't. Then he dropped something more upbeat, and my heart was broken. I wouldn't let it die- after that one, I got everyone to scream for it, at which point Jesse said he 'didn't have it'. MAJOR BUMMER!!! :sadgreen: But he dropped 1 more slower tune, which is just the way I like to end the night, and while it wasn't my request, it was still a good track. I am doomed never to hear that track again on a large sound system, I tell you. Thank goodness I have that moment from Dance Valley 2001 on videotape- the goosebumps I got when he dropped that tune... I just wanted everyone else to experience it with me.
Had a great time chilling with everyone in the park afterwards. What fun to watch the guys play fetch with those dogs on the ice in the sunshine!
Again, thanks to Boa for accommodating the TA's, for bringing the Scumfrog, & for being the greatest club in town. Be sure to bring him back again! |

BTW Jeff, u are now the 3rd inductee into my posse of hardcore clubbers.
1st member: Myself, for ending up in a wheelchair at WMC 2003 & still continued to attend parties.
2nd member: Skipper, for needing to leave a club for medical attention (3 stitches to the face) after a 2x4 fell on her, and after returning home, tried to tune in online to the netcast of the party she had to leave.
3rd member: TechnoAddict, who dance so hard at Scumfrog, and got such a bad case of 'rug burn' on his knees, that he bled. My hat goes off to you! |

Up until that Saturday, I would've found a statement like that to be rather hilarious...but after Saturday night/Sunday morning...I think I agree Nat.

Wow, well, UBER UBER late review from me, but needless to say, it's been awhile since I have closed a club down like that soooo thoroughly... TA's - we rock!!!!!! It was so much fun going to another club with a whole wack of us there, and I won't try to list y'all since there were so damn many of us there...
Suffice to say, Boa is 2 for 2 in terms of rocking my night once again and I will gladly fork over my well-earned cash to go there again! The vibe was a little on the subdued side this time around, I do agree, but my peeps, TA and non-TA alike, made it alllllllllll better - I wub you all! And the washroom attendant @ Boa, Kevin, is the sweetest thing in the world... he remembered me from when I was there 1 month ago and insisted on shutting my stall door for me every time I went to the bathroom - pretty darn cute if you ask me :)
It was great to meet Kevinearth (again? :p ), Glutegirl, Red, Ill, Pettiscool, Jennypie and DigitalMP, as well as see Nismodreams (double header for us both eh? and yes, you were smiling the whole time!!!) and Fuad again... Sorry to see you go tw1tch and Madeleine - hope your jet lag is improving! and it was great to dance with TechnoAddict and Fir3start3r - I finally realized (I think!) that you have the same name...
And Jesse, the Scumfrog - that was super fun!!!!! I had my fist pumping in your general direction the whole night - can't wait to see you in TO again :cool: |

i DEMAND to be a 4th inductee into the posee of hardcore clubbers
reason 1: went to sensation and jumped for 13 hours with a severly damaged knee (meniskus-couldnt bend the knee or put pressure on it)
reason 2: went to i love techno with kamran...with nothing more but a bottle of water and some cookies ( like idiots) instead of tents and other necessities like other 2304920349 normal people there..also with a high ass fever..13 hours of non stop dancing..sober..with water |

Valient efforts indeed... but they still don't 'count' to be inducted in my hall of fame, but only on a technicality: becuase we didn't know you then. Pull a crazy stunt like that now, & I promise u a membership. BTW, I wouldn't suggest u pull dancing with meniskus again- potentially doing serious damage is not a smart thing. |
