k i just wrote a midterm and it was puure ..there were questions on it that werent in any way covered in the textbook or in course outline, it was aparently only in lectures, this is pure bs because
1) if u get sick u have to miss lectures sometimes
2) the university schedules tests/midterms DURING ur lectures so u have to miss those
3) some days u have lecture, 6.5 hour break then another class so its huuge waste of time (it takes me about 4 hours to go home and back to school so its really far)
so ya..its gayness...i go to university of toronto btw
not to mention i had a course last year where a prof didnt teach something, admitted to not teaching it, yet they still didnt take pity on that section on the exam for not konwing like 2/8 questions even tho their prof specifically didnt teach it AND told them it wasnt on...
k end of pointless rant |

I dunno, I'm in first year of university and I'm learning quickly that it's not the same as high school.
Missing lectures due to being sick? Sure, but you can always borrow notes from a friend or colleague and then you're all caught up. No excuse not to, really.
Tests during other lectures? That's a tough break, we don't have that here (our midterms are in the evenings).
Big breaks between lectures? Yeah, that's a bitch, but then again it just means you have plenty of time between class to do work. My lectures are all in the mornings but I'm usually still on campus in the afternoons for labs or late tutorials, so I'll typically end up working on assignments/other work with my classmates. I suppose it depends on what you're studying though and how well you work with your peers.
Generally this year I'm learning that you can't always expect to be taught, you have to go out and learn it yourself. Ultimately it's you who decides whether to make the extra effort or not. |

that should be aparent with every tuition bill you pay.
Your forking over the damn money, you better be getting your moneys worth and getting an education. |

promptly at 6
takes me 25 min (on foot) to my bus stop
get on bus at 6:30
ride 30 min to boston
get on train (green line sucks a donkey dick ;)) at 7/7:10
ride 30 min to my school
get to school at 7:30/7:40
if I were to take the next bus (the one after 6:30, I'd be late).
Such is life.. ;) |
