Something to do if you're bored :D How would you rank the participating teams for EURO 2004 (assuming they're able to field their strongest formation)?
Here's mine:
France
Italy
Czech Republic
Spain
Portugal
Netherlands
Germany
England
Denmark
Sweden
Russia
Switzerland
Croatia
Bulgaria
Greece

Think you got England a bit low there mate! I dont think no team will walk it, and i dont think Germany should be as high as they are. Last competition they had a nice stroll all the way to the final!
But then again i am bias |

England - strong individual players, but they always collapse at tournaments. Have they won ANYTHING since 1966?
Most of it is hype in my opinion.
The Germans always have a superior mentality, even if they aren't as good as some of the other teams on paper. |

That's possible but not probable. (meh, never got wot the difference between those 2 words)
Anyway, Spain = good players, good talents, kinda lose it as a team. I dun think they'll get there. Italy 3rd? Hmmm, i dunno...
Damn, seriously, this Euro's amazin (but so were all other Euros) full of surprises. It's kinda hard 2 say which team will b where and when...
Can't fkn wait... |

I share the same feelings about this tournie. I think the first list is pretty accurate, except maybe change that Portugal/Holland. I don't mean to seem biased here, but I think Spain may surprise a couple of people on a couple of things. A) The team has had alot of factors to build on since WC2002, especially with this train bombing and the play-off that everyone commented on bring the team closer. B) Historically, we won the Euro in 1964, and got to the finals in 1984. Meaning what? The 20 years of luck:D. I know, sounds cheesy but could help us.
Anyhow, right now I don't think anyone argue that France look set... |

England should be higher, 4th or 5th (above Spain and Germany I reckon). Everything else is alright I'd think. |

nuff said :p
Personally last 4 imo will be
England
Spain
Portugal
Czech Republic
I really don't rate france this time around, and in a way I could see Spain winning it, they have some good players, esp Reyes, Vicente, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Puyol, Raul, Fernando Torres and the most inform keeper in the world, Iker Casillas.. can't see a long way past that, tho obv i'd adore an English victory |
