So that we can all improve our trips next year let's review how our accomodations were:
Betsy Ross Hotel
1440 Ocean Dr. (@14)
Cost: $129/night (through TravelNow.com)
Comments:
The room was nice and clean - as was the washroom. Free In-Room Safe, TV. Location was perfect. Only downside was the sundeck on the roof looking like (as compared to the pictures on the website) - but that wasn't a big deal. Also, the room we were in (City View room) didn't have a window you could open, so if you're gonna smoke, gotta go outside :)
The pool was ok but that didn't matter since the public beach is across the street. Staff was very professional as well... |

Great Idea!
Riande Continential Bayside Hotel
146 Biscayne Boulevard
Cost: $99/night (through wctravel.com)
Comments:
Location is directly across the stree from Ultra. About 10 blocks from Space ($5 cab ride).
Parking is $10/day in car storage next door.
Our room has two double-sized beds and enough room to fit two inflatable beds if need be. TV is included. Nice view of Bayfront Park. Security is relaxed about checking whether you have a room in the hotel or not. |

I stayed at the Riande Continental Bayside
Cost was $112/night including taxes and everything...
A decently large room, two double beds, tv and refrigerator (quite handy ;) )... however, very plain/outdated/kinda crappy...
same problem with the windows not opening, had to smoke in the hall as well.
Staff did not speak english however, and were usually not very helpful... also, the hotel only has two elevators, and on saturday night after ultra, one of them broke, and that was a nightmare haha...
i would not reccomend staying here... not only was it not that nice, didnt have a great restaraunt, the staff sucked, etc, but it's also downtown which isnt the location i would chose again
oh well, you live and you learn, still a great time! :D |

Holiday In @ Coral Gables
105 a night
Worst complaint
Every night that we came back to the hotel, we tried to shower and the water was cold. When we woke up in the morning the hot water magically turns on. |

The Clay Hotel
Espanola Way and Washington Ave.
Price: Free
nice hotel except for a few electronic key issues (hahaha Michi) For the 2 hours a day I actually spent in the room it was rather nice: 2 double beds, fridge, monster remote controlled a/c, decent bathroom. The location was top notch across the street from Crobar and several restaurants right downstairs. I have stayed at about 5 different hotels down there and I don't really care about going high end during the wmc because I simply don't spend enough time in the room to care. This place was convenient, clean, nice beds, and a nice bathroom/shower. Thats all I cared about. I would def. stay there again next year :) |

i crashed with ian for two nights and i loved the place. i was in love with the green stairs from the street (god knows why, i made ian take a picture of me in front of them when i left), and the whole street really. all hotel rooms are pretty much the same to me, so i loved this one for it's location and the aesthetic appeal of the surroundings.
before i crashed with ian, i was at the marseilles on collins and 17th, which was fine except the water pressure sucked. i was with my friends from college and we crammed seven of us into a room with two double beds for about $20/night. thank god me and the two other girls had a tendency to stay at space until the others woke up :)
anyway, i want to stay at the clay again next year because i'm in love with it, despite poor michi's incidents with the cards. i saw him standing at the bottom of the green stairs at 6 a.m. tuesday morning, then ian saw him there again a few hours later! |

| I stayed in three diffrent rooms during WMC......Trust me that will not happen again next year!!!:whip: :whip: :whip: Started off at the Henrosa at Collins & Espanola and it was a nice mid sized room with 2 double beds, fridge, and cold ac. Price....Free!!! Moved to the Dorchester at 1800 block of Collins. Nice hotel....big room, ac, fridge, nice bathroom....price $115/night. And then I finally ended up at the Tropics Hotel on 1400 block of Collins. Room was very big, two sigle beds (doubles available) no fridge, no ac, no curtains (sun woke me up:whip: ) Price....$89/night. I wouldnt stay here again and do not recommend it. Next year Im getting my own room with maybe one person and staying in one place the whole time. |

Colony Hotel - Ocean Drive between 7th & 8th
Price - $149/nite
Best thing about the hotel is the location. Right in the middle of everything. 2 doors down from Wet Willies. Across the street from the beach, and easy access to everything on Ocean Drive. The room itself was ok, the A/C cranked out nice. No refridgerator sucked ass. The hotel is old as , so the elevator was worthless. I didn't really like the people who worked there, not very friendly. Probably wouldn't stay there again... unless I have a roommate. I might check out the Clay next yr... Ian gave it 4 out of 5 stars. :happy2: |
