Re Tiesto stuff : w00t, I feel the same way as everybody posted before. I was in Breda when they filmed the part where he walks in the streets and says something like 'Everybody knows me' with his STUPID moviestar sunglasses. He was acting all full of himself. There were people walking up to him for his autograph, if I hadn't seen him that day, that could have been me walking up to him. And am I the only one that was more then tired of hearing 'The only one ! ...' 'The one' 'The number one' OVER AND OVER when he did Tiesto in Concert ? It was like hearing Morpheus from The matrix over and over and over :D
Re Studio : Wow nice studio CynepMeH ! Could I PM you for some details about it please ?
Also there is going to be a BIG convention in Frankfurt at the end of this month. I'm going over to a store to ask for all the latest news, he said something about a new virus etc... anyone interested in me posting stuff here ? Or is there a site that gives out all that info anyway ?
Cheers ! |

indeed a re-released and updated virus B ... but it's way to expensive ... will be around 1200 euro's ... i got my virus C for 1500 so ... i think the price is too high for the *new virus Classic* |

A lot of people prefer the sound of the Virus B to the Virus C though.
Cynepmeh, when you gonna get a song finished and uploaded for us to hear.
trancenrg69, nice to hear other people with flagrant hatred to people taking credit for stuff that isn't theres. I can't stand djs taking credit for songs they bought. |

you know... in some parts of the world, you aren't recognized as a dj AT ALL if you play cd's. so in that aspect, you should be glad that he plays vinyl. ;) i've seen the guy live and have heard numerous live sets from him, and i gotta admit that he makes spinning trance quite interesting.
[b]*note*... this is NOT intended to be a vinyl vs. cd response. |

He's been spinning CDs for a few years now... |

I think nearly every major DJ spins both vinyl abd CDs these days. I think it has a lot to do with promo distribution.
Ok, first let me say that I used to like Tiesto (not like some "TIESTO I DIE" noob, but I liked his sets and productions before In My Memory) so don't take this the wrong way...
I don't get why everyone assumes that now that he is a big famous egotistical prick he doesn't make his own tunes. I mean I has been "producing" for years, why all of a sudden do people assume he can't produce a track? One argument might be that he is touring so much he can't possible have time... fair enough but this entire thread is about how Tiesto does not even have a studio. You guys don't seriously believe that he has now idea how to create a track do you?
So maybe his favorite part of his days really is getting the new promos and getting lame letters from his fans. It simply shows that he cares more about DJing than producing (IMO). I just feel like people are really jumping to conclusions about this dude because he sold out hardcore.
BTW, A Day In the Office was probably the lamest movie (wannabe) documentory I have ever seen. I mean I wouldn't go as far as trancenrg69 said and agree that "is an absolute bonbardment of "Tiesto rules!, tiesto is god!, tiesto is so hot!, tiesto is the best dj ever!" but it was definitly a sort of see how lucky/cool my life is as documented by this cheap ass promotional movie I had some dude make for me and then sell as a real DVD to my adoring fans who will be anything with my name on it.
I do realize that technically he is not even that skilled a DJ. I took up spinning about 2 years ago and a few months ago I listened to Tiesto live at Innercity 1999 (one of the albums that got me into trance) with my DJ ear. I swear there is not one solid transition on the whole damn CD.
PS - Rememver on Another Day at the Office when some Tiesto fan kept talking about how underground Tiesto is? I almost fell out of my chair with that one |

Man, I sure as hell hope that neither Armin, Paul, or Ferry make it to number one spot on DJ Polls. For some reason seems those poles make ppl arrogant.
Also, this line about everyone knowing Tiesto - holly crap.... what a chunk of sh!t... at least here in US - ask someone in FYE or Tower Records if they know who Tiesto is - maybe 1% will know. In Philly, you'll be hard pressed to hear a single trancey-like song on the radio; most of it is alt rock, electrocknica, some idiot puking his guts out in a microphone screaming about his love for some phat-arsed white trash girlfriend, etc.... the closest we have to Trance is DJ Sammy.
Anyway, this topic is derailed and should be in "music discussion" by now.... |

cheggy - I intend to be the Pablo Picasso of trance. You will probably hear and appreciate my works after I had drove all my women away, drunk myself to piss on absynthe, cut my own ear off and died in complete poverty. Some lucky bastard will unseal my files and they will be the "it" music... Sort of like Bill and Ted's excellent productions that will unite the world over - all the lovers of all kinds of music, including those Kenny G worshiper weirdos...
;)
Seriously - I can post some "acoustic" (no beat) cover versions... Complete songs, own material - well... dunno...:tongue2 |
