i agree with u Mike ;)
music comes from emotion and if it doesnt, then its not as great
IMO lots of producers make it for money, and lots of music is ****, so u figure it balances out (i dunno what i just said hehe)
as for the person who made the song, i think u could tell what kind of person he/she is 'cause music comes (or should come) from the heart *plays armin vs. system f - from the heart* :whip: :whip: :whip:

Jay yes your right but i didnt say trance by mistake. i said trance and meant it. i feel that there is something about it which makes it a better communicator of emotions than most other genres ive come across. you definately need time and patience but i dont think i agree that u need money to be a good producer. A good producer is one who can make a track using any tools. A good enough producer could make a heavenly track using almost anything. like you said, the sky is the limit, the sky and beyond. i also strongly feel that at least half of being a good producer boils down to personality. i think that one needs to be open minded and artistic to suceed as a producer because it takes a cetain personality to be able to express your self through this type of music, dont you agree?

I agree for the greatest part.

If you can buy better stuff (software or hardware, a new computer) things can speed up, so money is an issue in some way.
I mean, why do big DJs release top records so easily -> $$$€€€

Other music has emotions too, enough, as much as trance IMO, it's just harder to play the instruments, and thus bring out your feelings. Ever been to an opera or orchestra...?
Mike_Foyle
yeah your definately right mate. im just saying personally trance is the most powerful genre ive come across so far. when i say that, i mean that most music doesnt touch me like trance can. i dont know if its coz trance is any easier than other music, i got to grade 8 violin and in comparison producing is complex as lol. i think its the fact that using trance, and electronic music, and even combining it with other music.. there is no end to whats posible really. on a piano, there are limits. orchestras have limites, bands have limits. i cant ever see there being limits when it comes to producing music in the way that we do.

i definately agree that money is an issue, i wasnt saying you were rong at all. :) sure money is an issue but not having money certainly isnt a borderline to our potential. sky is the limit! sky is the limit! sky is the limit! sky is the limit! sky is the limit!

hehehe. i love music :)

and i forgot to mention... opera... that is maybe a close competitor to trance for me :D i mean, yeah thats bloody powerful stuff.equally orchestras, i used to play in one, but my personality meant i couldnt appriciate and relate to that music quite as well as trance. It all boils down to taste and personality. fascinating really. Trance is my thing at the moment thats all :)

hehe.. i got to ARCT violin.. ;)
producing is complex and much more tehcnical than the average MTV music generator noob believes it to be... However, as far as difficulty goes, I believe classical music is still the most challenging genre of music to master... there is just something different about it...

Anyways, on to your track... I really like the piano... it's just so dreamy and beautiful... I actually think the way you compressed it makes the track sounds interesting and to me it the offbeat kinda synth gives the track more dynamics....

However, I do believe the kick could use a bit more mid range presence as it sounds muddy and kinda weak... Also the hi hats and clap could also use a bit more boost and small amounts of reverb to make it fill in the mix more....

But major thumbs up to the piano breakdown... very beatuiful :toocool:

wow a fellow violin player! cheers dude :) ill do what i can to the track :)

i agree classical is very complex and challenging. Its my basis, where i started out. I think it may have been to complex for me. Posibly it takes an equally complex personality to appriciate it fully. Im very open minded and so obviously there are many classical pieces which ihave heard and loved.. and when the orchestra played to an audience that was an amazing feeling, becuase u could see the affect it had on the audience. Much like DJing ;) Alot of trance i would say is the electronic equivilent to orchestral classical music! crazy huh? the DJ could be the conductor :D the tracks are the orchestra hehe. or the producer is the conductor and his studio is his orchestra. similar in many ways no?

i like this a lot man. personally i would add a sick pad sound (not sure how else to describe it). something deep like a wetbass slap here and there (with some nice reverb to keep it going).

this is really good - good luck :)
