Just get one installed yourself. You're 18, you have a job. Surely your father wont interfere? It's your business if you want to "waste" your money isn't it? |

| well it depends. if you pay for you internet by the hour, then what bilk said will work, but if its a flat monthly rate, i would tell him that he can pay for the regular 56k price, and you will cover the rest for the adsl, and wham bam thankyou mam, tell him its just like paying for 56k for him, and that the adsl is important enought to you that you feel that the money is worth the speed. :) ... my parents wont pay either.. im still on 56k. feel my pain. |

i dunno if im too late..but heres my advice...use the marketing scheme that pacific bell uses heh ehh ehe...
scenario one: you got one fone line...say this:
daddy, 56k cuts off the fone line, and it might block important calls. or it may cut us off from whatever were doing.
Scenario two: you got two fone lines...
dad, dsl= 56k + another fone line...why not get extra speed?
My 2 cents. djnaeblis's idea about splitting the cost isnt too bad. I know how it feels like to go from broadband (i got cable) to a 56k line (my cousins house).
good luck! |
