kind of related...but I just don't understand the hype. There are all these doctors and researchers saying how one pill can cause irreversible brain damage, how prolonged use can result in 75% dopamine loss, blah blah. So show us the people that are "messed up"
from e!

It's pretty easy to find a TON of people that have had alcohol ruin their lives...yet it's still legal (gov't tax revenue, of course). People have been doing e for decades...where are all the tragic stories of e messing up someone's life in the same way? where are all the traffic related deaths due to e? Where are the stories of e-related violence? oh...there aren't too many!

yet the drug is villified on the level of coke and herion. It's such bull.

i think it has partly to do with the fact that alcohol is a regulated substance and ecstacy isn't. if the contents of ecstacy were pure it might be somewhat easier i suppose.. but i don't know how the government would enforce something like that compared with something like alcohol (i guess this goes for tobacco too). and even if it could be regulated like that, then there's that whole issue about there being insufficient research data of prolonged moderate use of ecstacy by humans over a long period of time, blah blah blah, etc.. so yeah sounds messy to me..

but the stupid thing is that they never knew about long term effects of tabacco and alcohol when they started taxing the out of it. I'm sure there is more research on MDMA now then there ever was when people started smoking and drinking.

I saw the documentary completely and it was very good and presented a neutral view.

In NYC at least, there was the news beforehand where they talked about the big drug bust and they had a DEA guy who said that the majority of E coming into the city now is coming through from Toronto :(

I was able to see this documentary.

I thought it was misleading. 1 reputable study is not going to give us the understanding of long term effects. How often does anybody get pure mdma. Pure mdma does not cut it for an 8 hour long party IMO.

They should of concluded that more studies need to be done.

I did like the testimonies of the 3 partiers at the end. Thought that was effective.

I agree with below. Also, from my researching, i read that
the long term use of mdma can damage receptors in the brain.

In one part of a brain cell you have the seretonin being produced.
There are also these things that are shaped like an "H" called transporters. These transporters float around the cell and pick up the seritonin. It then latches on to a receptor which are look like little hairs on the edge of the brain cell. Once the transporter filled with seretonin latches on to a receptor, the seretonin is released through the body.

With long term use of E, these little receptors shrink which result in the transporters not having a place to latch on to to release the seratonin.

5-htp can help preserve the health of these receptors as well.

Thats my understanding of it.

It's funny because I've researched this drug quite intensely.
I've actually read about this study that serotonin can be depleted in your brain by up to 80% after taking a pill. What they didn't tell you is that it was only one individual out of the whole study. All other studies result in a minor depletion in serotonin and here's a theory which explains...

Here's how I understand how it works and have many references to proove my theory.
- Your Brain produces serotonin.
- Serotonin is a Hormone that regulates Mood, Sleep and Appetite.
- MDMA is synthetic serotonin.
Your Body's biochemistry knows when you are getting a synthetic drug when it recognises it has too much of it. So when dropping MDMA, you Body says "WOW I've got 400% more serotonin!!! ALERT ALERT, Shut down production of serotonin!" This process is called Homeo-stasis (Your body's feedback mechanism)
After a few hours of dropping, your body metabolises the serotonin as it depletes in your brain over the course of 2 to 3 days. After your serotonin levels have dropped below normal levels in the brain, your brain begins to secrete serotonin again to regain normal levels.
If you take MDMA on a regular basis 1 pill every weekend or more often, your body will start depending on this synthetic drug for its source of serotonin therefore your brain will have a difficult time to maintain normal levels of serotonin. Therefore, the typical Side Effects are: you may not feel hungry as often, your mood can be affected and you may become depressed, your body may not get the quality rest it needs too (RMA sleep).
SUPPLEMENTS.
- Supplements are natural and not synthetic.
- Certain Supplements help your body to aid it's normal functions.
- 5 HTP. 5 Hydroxy-tryptophane. this is a supplement which helps your brain to produce more serotonin. This will help regulate serotonin faster and will help regulate mood, appetite and sleep. Take this supplement to help recover. 100mg before bed the next night. Take 50 mg 3 times a day without food for full absorbtion(Morn, noon, night)thereafter for the following 5 days. I recommend the "NOW" brand @ health food stores. (GNC does not carry NOW brand)
- Clense with supplements.
- It is great to clense your body with a clense supplement twice a year. with taking synthetic drugs, (Ususally MDMA is laced with other synthectic drugs) your body gains toxins which it isn't able to eliminate over time. A 1 month clense will definitly help. Also at Health Food stores

how was it misleading? They showed what the gov't says is seriously flawed, and that 1 study shows otherwise
they also had scientist from the 'pro mdma' side say that they would be very interested in seing the results duplicated

the documentary did bring up scientific bias and how studies have problems and flaws in their design.

At least I got that out of it...maybe you didnt. I would really like to watch it again
^^^^^^^
on that note, if you have it in divx/xvid/avi etc whatever, Del told me that he would host it on TA.

Let us all know when its available for download, im interested in watching this...

The thing I hate the most is what people will believe when it comes to drugs. Most of the things you hear are extreme cases and dont represent the sample data properly. Oh well, enjoy it for yourself, dont listen to what other people say or think. good motto for life.

Yes let us know indeed this whole tjhing sounds interesting ... would love to see it !

Thanks

Yes, Yes, I wanna c it 2

Lemme know where to download it from ;)

heard about it but havent seen and i'm really intrigued.

i have to say that if it was all clean there would
be way less problems - there aren't many anyways.

either way you look at it, if u do too much of anything,
you're asking for trouble.

moderation is the key
