| Who the said I'm elitist. I was just claiming I know more than Ishkur (there are others on the forums that know more than me and I know that). See I rather read up on what I don't know because I love to learn. See that's why I said TA should make our own guide because we have many experts on many genres. |

Sometimes the psytrance elitists I've met frustrate me. It's always like, "Trance sucks unless it sounds more like techno/astral projection/alien project or has more squeaky noises and less melody.". I agree that the scenery at parties and stuff has gotten kinda boring and uninnovative too...I'm getting kinda tired of fluorescent everything and nothing else usually at parties. |

Well said *claps* :) I believe we all have our unique personal experiences... and posting on here in a polite and friendly fashion is one way to share those experiences and combine that information. I would like to see this redundant issue stop coming up on here, but apparently that cannot be the case. The truly wise teachers listen amply as well as speak. It's an exchange of information and sharing of our passion for this type of music.
There's always more to learn, and always more room to grow. For those who think electronic music started with Fatboy Slim, it goes back further still. Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk? Even further... even into a time where the music was not electronic but no doubt influenced what happens today. It's all connected and I find the greatest respect is in tracing the many diverse paths and seeing how they converge and diverge -- and more importantly, actually listening to the music and enjoying.
Sometimes, it's not about "the truth" -- but rather, the power of observation and life from our own individual perspective and frame of reference. Didn't Einstein say something about that as well?
I'm concretely convinced that the true masters among us do not freely dispense all their knowledge in one go like pearls to swine (rough analogy -- I have nothing against pigs or pearls for the record), but rather, wait until the time is right to share it; or perhaps a willing and ready student, for that nature. It's easier to learn when one's mind is open. Yes, that sounded "cheesy" but how true it is.
If trance were a religion... well, Joan of Arcadia has something to say on the matter:
"It's not about religion, it's about fulfilling your potential."
And, oh, when in doubt, invent your own genre. |

One lawyer, one teacher and one fisherman were crossing the river (on a boat, obviously).
The lawyer asked the fisherman:
"Do you know how the penal system works?"
The fisherman promptly replied:
"No sir, I don't"
The lawyer than said:
"You wasted half of your life then: if you don't know the laws, how can you defend yourself from unfair judgements?"
The fisherman didn't say a word.
So the teacher decided to have a word with him too.
"Do you know math?"
The fisherman was honest:
"No ma'am, I don't know math... in fact, I can't even read well"
The teacher said something similar to the lawyers words:
"You wasted half of your life then: if you don't know how to read, and you don't know how to deal with numbers, how do you know people are paying you the fair price for your fish?"
The fisherman, once again, stayed silent.
Suddenly though, they got in a storm and the boat started to sink. Naturally, the fisherman started to swim, when he heard the lawyer and the teacher screaming:
"Help us! Help us!"
The fisherman, confused, asked:
"Don't you cult people know how to swim?"
They said:
"No, there are no rivers where we live"
The fisherman smiled and said:
"I can't swim with you because of the storm, so all I can say is: you wasted your life"
