| are you joking me? i hear this place is good, but $30 cover is enough to keep me away...seriously, i go to university (ie. i aight blowing 30 bucks to see a random dj in a new club, especially when seeing ferry corsten and rank 1 @ guv together cost me $30 bucks.) i don't understand there reasoning behind that and how they get such a huge turn out with such a rediculous cover. i guess they're trying to make up for not selling liquir. but thats retarded, that just sums up to me that this place is a drug haven. if you don't have one, there will be the other. personally i like seeing ppl enjoying the music and not flopping all over the place because they're ODing...but in all fairness, i've never been, and am just trying to piece this all together, so please share your views on this new club... |

| It's the same as any other club as far as drugs go. If anything, there are probably less wasted people there than at Guvernment because they don't serve alcohol. The cover is ridiculous, but you gotta hand it to them, they're pulling it off quite well. |

firstly it's not $30 all the time...the cover varies depending on what time you get there and who's spinning...if it's a major headliner then the cover is going to be more expensive...
the club makes a blanket offer to everyone for reduced guestlist...this also brings the cover down and gets you in before the regular line...
the reason you're paying $30 for rank1 and corsten together is because at the guv they can pack many more people in and reflect that in the cover....plus they're making $$ at the bar...
as far as people od'ing and flopping around everywhere i think you're watching too many peter jennings specials...99% of the people in clubs know how to handle their meds and i'll take a room full of high partiers over a room full of stumbling drunks any day of the week...
i think you nailed your post when you said "in all fairness, i've never been"...
pick some night when there isn't an expensive headliner and go before 2am...probably get in for less than $20 on guestlist...the club is very nice inside and the sound system is the best in the city..water is $5 but you can refill it in the washrooms...fridays are gay circuit nights and saturdays are a mixed crowd...
for reduced cover and line bypass e-mail [email protected] |

I suggest you check it out, as Craig mentioned above, before stating that the place is a drug haven and people are ODing all over the place. And Guvernment is not a drug haven? Please... :o
I've been to Boa twice and have had a ridiculously amazing time both times - the staff are uber friendly, the vibe was rocking and the space is soooo cool (it's an old movie theatre). And as for sound, it has the best in the city, bar none, in my humble opinion.
And as for cover being "rediculous", at least you get to see the DJs spin @ Boa for more than 1 hour or 2 (5 or 6 would be the average, I imagine), as compared to a night such as Decadence at Guv. And I only paid $20 cover on either of the nights I've been there.
Hope this helps and I'm sure you'll have an amazing night if you ever check Boa out and if you go with an open frame of mind, which I hope you will. |

| Boa is the BOMB. It is one of the best clubs I've been to music, space, sound, and vibe. You should also note that your admission fees will allow you to leave the club and come back again later that evening. How many places do you know will let you do that? If you don't like their no booze policy - go home, tank away and come back ;) |

| I'd pay $30 even on a regular night because the staff is so great. I've been to Boa 3 times and have not gotten even one stare, bad look or any form of attitude from the bouncers and bar staff. Friendly smiles all around... you wouldn't think that makes a difference but it does! And as Craig said, "i'll take a room full of high partiers over a room full of stumbling drunks any day of the week..." <-- so true!! |

because they're trying to promote their club as having a "mature" crowd. I think it's a good angle.
It's not really 21+...they just advertise it that way. If you're not dressed like a punk, you'll get in if your below that age, possibly even if you're under 19, since there's no booze.
Unfortunately, I still haven't been there...but am planning to head over to catch Sander K after Armin finishes up at Decadence :) Sounds like they have a really good thing going at Boa! |
