JUNKIE XL (live*)
JUNKIE XL AKA Tom Holkenburg is the DJ-producer-remixer-live performer now renown for his remix of Elvis “A Little Less Conversation,” which shot to #1 in 24 countries. His recent album called Radio JXL - A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin features collaborations with David Gahan, Peter Tosh, Robert Smith, Chuck D., Gary Numan, Solomon Burke, Sasha, and Australia’s Infusion.
The junkie moniker was derived from his obsession and “studio-junkie” reputation, while the XL is a reference to the process of “eXpading Limits” of perception and reality through music. For his NYC live debut, Junkie XL is known for bringing the dynamics of a live rock show to electronica. You can expect a mixture of alternative dance with a striking rock attitude. What separates Junkie XL from other electronic bands, Holkenburg says, is that "groups like Fatboy Slim are presented as dance acts with rock guitars. I consider us more of an alternative rock band using dance tools." This is not electronic music for your headphones. Get ready to rock!
