i used to play drums. i have been playing guitar now for about 14 years. and now that i have my decks i spin as well. i havent played the skins since last time i was home at my parents... whcihc was some time ago. but as for all time greatest drummers... John Bonham from Zeppelin. that guy could rock it. check out his drum solo from moby dick, its on both the 2 DVD special relsease from zep or the movie the song remains the same.. in owns. second best is rick allen from def leppard... in one armed tornado......

Very rare you get a thread on a trance board about drumming. :)

Here's my combination of both (i.e. trance w/live acoustic drums)

right-click here

:D

P.S. This thread is starting to remind me of certain Montreal message boards. Not good.

Taz, your thread is no good. Also, best guitarist or cords played in a group was led zepplin (especially free bird.) I have to disagree with everyone though. The best drummer of all time is (formally) dave grohl, previously before in Nirvana. He plays some wicked .

are you in we ta did???? any self respecting zeppelin fan knows that it was LYNARD SKYNARD who wrote free bird, not to mention performed it. and all tho nirvana had a revolutionary sound for their time, i would hardly call any of their guitar or drum work "exceptional" it was simplistic at best which is what made it good. dave grohl is better on guitar than he was on drums in my opinion. how can you even compare him to bonham danny carey? those guys were in insane. bonham has been known to play 45 minute drum solos, whilst throwin his sticks away and bangin out the smae riffs with his hands... on zeppelins 3rd album, they recorded the drums by putting the kit at the base of a stairwell and hanging a microphone off the thrid floor landing..... and they still sounded great. try actually listning to a band before you start listing off songs they "did" that are quite obviously not their style, let alone that fact that any drummer who actually listens to the drum lines knows that bonham would have made free bird 30 times better....

Yikes!:nervous: sorry. It's still early here. my mind needs to become whole with it all. sheesh!!!! Anyway, afi has a good drummer too. I don't listen to classic rock unless it's in the car with my dad. He believes the best group is beach boys. Brian wilson only cared about the sounds; instruments. He was all about sound, so when pet sounds came out, that let everyone know he was serious. Not mentioning that dumb ass sat out for like how many years?!! While that other head took his place!!!!!!!:whip: Anywho, best drummer still stands for me. If I had my way, (I'd be the best damn drummer!!!) but i'm not that conceited.;)

Seriously everyone, I asked about notes. I'm like sucking at my flams, kind of. I hate flams! This got so off-topic. I just needed some advice from drummers. When I do my plataflaffa...of whatever the it's called....it sucks. My drags and rolls are fine, but my flams aren't so hot!:nervous: :(

have u bought any dj mixes? im most certain all u have is those "best of the year trance" cd's. such as "Best of Trance" & "Trance Party" "Best of House" etc...

go out and buy a Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, or Armin Van Buuren cd. enough with the noobie cds.
