Fatboy - Rebound (Bren-F Remix)
140bpm
10.03mins
192kbps
Hey all, some more uplifting trance for you to enjoy, play, whore or delete at your leisure :)
Probably a tad on the long side, but after the hours I spent on it I didn't fancy butchering it ;)
Look out for the massive Orchestra breakdown :D
x10 to Fatboy for letting me remix this wonderful piece of music. :D |

Dude, downloaded this last night and expected it to have been jumped on by now with me replying on page 4 or something.....
This tune rox mate, it really does. I think it really is brilliant. Agree about the top end, but that is a slight niggle, sounds like your cutoff on your synth is too open or something, I dunno.
Here's what I wrote down when I first was listening:
Well, listening now
the hi hat clouds out the other top end stuff
that doo-doo-doo-doo-doo is amazing but again the top end is drowning it out
your top end is too harsh
it's that synth voice that's the problem, it's resonance is too much or it's cutoff is too high
listening to the orchestra bit
take it these are soundfonts
like this
brilliant
even better
bit too much tho - would LOVE to see how this goes down, reminds me of FF7
beautiful chord structure, you've got it spot on
You definitely have it sorted, DAMN this is amazing!!!
I love this mate, absolutely love this, this could easily be the tune that breaks you into the mainstream....
When you repeat the chords you nail it on the head, what it is that is loved in trance, the suspension of the chord sequence and then when you resolve it..... AAAHHHH!!
Wish you'd make more of the doo-doo-doo-doo-doo, it sounds too low-quality. That makes this tune.
Bloody amazing Bren, just saying it how it is, this is great. Fatboy is a legend!!!
Listening today the doo-doo-doo thing is fine. Get this sent out mate. Again, love that chord resolution. (sister has just walked in to tell me lunch is ready and stopped to ask what this is it's great, so there you go....)

Wicked work mate!
Smooth all the way, nice work with dramatizing the break!
Hmm, I think butchering this track would only do it good... One climax is enuff for this to be a blast.
Keep it up |

Fantastic work on the remix, Bren! Enjoyed every second of it! So many nice sounds and different elements in this; nothing negative to say after a first listen. Definitely not too long, because the track never has a dull moment.
Will be playing this a lot methinks. :D |

gah, only 99.9k/s haha :p
i reakon your build could do with some acid + the percs thickening all over with some random perc noises like monkey forest as your stuff reminds me a lot of that tune for some random reason. nice big breakdown to listen to, dunno if it will be able to be endured out however... when it kicks back in it feels as if the power isn't quite there, as if the synths need eqing a bit more and the volume raising. the original is hyper as when it kicks off so maybe i am comparing it a bit too much to that rather than evaluating it on its own merits. ill have a bash at playing it out if thats ok with u, will probably have to steal a better bitrate version off u on msn first tho ;)

Luke: I've got a few CD-Rs to send out on Tuesday - I can send U out a CD quality version if U like ?
If not then U wil have to settle for a 3 hour 320kbps version download from my 56k modem ;) |

Thanx for the remix mate:) Amazing stuff! Like I said to you before, this is the first time someone remixes a song by me, and what's better than yet another quality remix by you:D I liked how you used different instruments in the break, where I used only strings. Definitely interesting. Thanks again, and keep up the good work:)
Peace |

I love everything after the breakdown.
As for the breakdown I think the timpani sounds a little weak and the orchestral sounds need to be layered a little more because they sound like they come from a keyboard. Also, not quantizing everything would give it more of a human feel and less robotic (don't make everything exactly on beat for that real orchestral sound). Maybe use a good sample playback synth ( I found great samples using Rolands ochestral expansion board). I don't like the snare rolls because they are too overdone these days. But that is only my opinion.
Production quality is great. |
