birmingham is probably the best city for everything.
sheffield is good coz it has a lower crime rate than all the other citys in the uk but its a bit annoying as its quite industrialised in the city centre and other parts and it looks a bit . |

I love Glasgow..:D
In all seriousness I've travelled down south a few times in the last year or so and each time I come back with the same impression, that once past Manchester, England becomes so built up it's unbelievable. all the major cities seem to run into one another now. In Glasgow you can still have a great city life then travel 15 miles down the road and be @ loch lomond or elsewhere in the scottish country side.
Glasgow also has one of the best night lifes in britain, with 3 universities and a tonne of colleges theres student clubs all thru the week for a good perv, and for the serious clubber there is the legendary arches and the sub club..:)
Just a thought:) |

Id say it really depends on what job your gonna get. London is by far the best place to live, as long as you have the money. The fact is that London might be loads more expensive, but it also pays a substantially lot more than anywhere else in the UK, so id do a bit of research into job prospects first.
You've also got to realise that you are also alot more likely to get a job in London than in other parts of the UK, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds are the other main economic hubs. |

| the thing about london is that if you want a nice posh 2 bedroom flat it will cost you about 700 per WEEK rather than 700 per MONTH in other cities. whereas wage wise you usually only earn 1.5 to 2 times as much. that is the main problem. |

since the city centre has been rebuilt it has become my favourite city in the uk, and i hate to admit that because im a london boy...Broad street is class, fantastic bars and pre club hang outs..Godskitchen and Sundissential make it well worth a look and NEC is a decent venue for all the larger events...Brummies are dead friendly aswell...seriously thinking of moving there when i come home..... |

man the rent in town is stupid...but if youre prepared to move just outside to say slough you can pick up a decent one bedroom flat for between 600 and 700 a month...ok,, so theres nothing in slough, but its only 20 minutes on the train to the centre of london and theres a tube station just 4 miles away... |

BIRMINGHAM is the best all-rounder at the best price. Its as near to London as Brighton y'know (1.5 hrs).

but anywhere else in the country, well northern country, you'd get 2 bed and pure luxury for that price. An average 1 bed flat would be 300-400 a month.

Bristol, Brum, Manch and Sheffield, all great uni cities
Bristol is by far the prettiest and really not expensive but dead when term is out.
Manch and sheff are busier
Brum although coming up and has some great nights has the downside of the west midlanders, with a terrible accent.
London is my choice, yes expensive but hey i got a great huge room in a shared house for only £310 a month. And far more jobs if your willing to fight for them.
2nd id say brum
3rd bristol
then go north. |
