I'd honestly have to see the actually clincals before I can accurately say how I feel on the issue. The media and science alike has become infamous for destorting facts or selectively choosing which ones they do and do not like to present (such as Mann et al, dealing with the Kyoto Accords, or even Ricaurte's MDMA studies). As most research scientists learn, setting out to find a specific problem in a group often leads to either interpreting results to your liking or allowing personal bias to sway beliefs. As I said, I really would have to see the actual tests to give you an honest answer.
I do think this article plays into a more serious concern, in my opinion, that being the amount of children prescribed mood altering drugs. I hope I can find the article, but recently a group of child psychologists were put into a classroom setting and asked to pick the children who exhibited social or behavior problems. After one week with the children the psychologists had said that 80% of the children fell into this category and needed medical intervention. Our society has gotten to the point that children are no longer to be excused for acting like children. At the first sign of unruly behavior or decreased attention, a child is by defacto put on these drugs because god forbid a child would act like a child, but a parent not willing to deal with childlike behavior.
So, could there be a link between juvenile suicides and SRIs? Possibly, but I also have to question our motive for putting millions of kids on these drugs in the first place. |

It's all very well saying that but you seem to be oblivious to the fact that he creates problems for the rest of the world. That is not being "Anti- American" either.
Being British we are in the same boat as the US anyway, but you have to ask yourselves why they hate both of us so much? It's not like its something to do cos ur bored. These are fanatical well organised organisations that feel so strongly about it that their followers are willing to give their lives for it. Now i'm in no way saying thats even slightly forgivable, but does it not worry you to think WHY? .... it certainly worries me.
But instead of trying to reconile differences in a diplomatic manner, the attitude seems to be to shoot first and ask questions later. this just stirs up more hatred.
Now lets face it with Iraq, they have bitten off more than they can chew. Just when u think things can't get much worse, they go and bomb a mosque.

What's Wrong With George W. Bush
Readers have asked, why are you supporting Roy Moore for President? Isn't George W. Bush a conservative? Isn't he a Christian? Why can't you support George W. Bush's re-election campaign?
It is true that when he first came into office, George W. Bush offered hope for many traditional Christians that he would enact policies that would support the effort to make America a God-centered nation once more.
To put it simply: Bush let us down. He broke his promises.
It's hard for us to turn our back on the man who had given us so much hope, but the fact is that George W. Bush has already turned his back on us.
The following are just a few of the ways that George W. Bush has betrayed America's traditional conservatives.
George W. Bush betrayed Roy Moore. When Justice Roy Moore and his supporters declared that the Ten Commandments have a place in the America's courts of law, George W. Bush cut and run. Bush pretended that he didn't even know us, like Peter denying Jesus.
George W. Bush betrayed Lieutenant General William Boykin. When Boykin told the truth about America's war against terror, saying that it is really a war against Satan, Bush denied knowing anything about it. We know very well that Bush and Boykin have talked about this very thing in the White House together, but again Bush pretended that he didn't even know about it.
After September 11, 2001, George W. Bush has engaged in a silly ecumenical project to try to pretend that all religions are really the same and equally valid. General Boykin is courageous enough to say that "America is a Christian nation". Bush tries to pretend that he does not think so. We need a President who will be honest about these things, and not try to cover up the real differences between Christianity and Islam.
George W. Bush campaigned as a responsible fiscal conservative, but he has created the largest budget deficits in history. As Pastor William Baldwin points out, under Bush's leadership, the Republican Congress has outspent their Democratic predecessors. Bush's policies raise our local taxes, and George W. Bush has yet to veto a single spending bill.
Under George W. Bush, the Republican Party has become the party of big government. The government has grown bigger and bigger, with more agencies and bureaucracies and enforcement programs.
George W. Bush seems to have a problem being honest. Bush has been caught in many lies. He's lied about September 11. He's lied about Iraq. He's lied about his budget. The sad fact is that George W. Bush has lost all the moral authority that a President of the United States must have. Bush is a poor example for our children, who we try to teach to be honest.
America is supposed to be the land of freedom, not the land of spies. Yet, George W. Bush has created new programs for the government to spy on ordinary, law-abiding Americans. Through the Patriot Act and Total Information Awareness, Bush has made America the land of Big Brother.
We criticized Bill Clinton for having his donors sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom of the White House. Now George W. Bush is doing the same, arranging for his big fundraisers to sleep overnight in the White House. That's a shame.
Just like Bill Clinton, the Bush Administration uses focus groups to set its policy and its speeches. Judge Roy Moore has more integrity than that.
George W. Bush promised that he would promote a pro-life agenda, but now both George W. Bush and his wife say that they oppose overturning Roe v. Wade, because George W. Bush is really pro-Choice!
Bush is two-faced and insincere about homosexuality. He says he opposes gay marriage, but then refuses to oppose civil unions for homosexuals. He also refuses to be consistent on hiring gays in the government, allowing for other offices to fire gays because of their sexual orientation, but he hires several homosexuals himself! Either Bush should be pro-gay or anti-gay. Make a decision, Bush!
Bush has taken part in Shinto ceremonies, bowing down to idols at a Shinto temple in Japan. Blasphemy and idolatry is not Christian behavior. Judge Roy Moore would never do such a thing.
George W. Bush has actually increased the funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, which funds blasphemy!
Bush has allowed for experimentation on human embryos.
Bush has sent American soldiers to serve under United Nations authority. |

Bush Administration Legalisms Bear False Witness
We conservatives used to get angry at the Clinton Administration because of its dishonesty. We promised America that if George W. Bush became President, the lies would stop. Unfortunately, it appears that we were wrong. The Bush Administration has descended into the same kind of nonsense legalistic deceptions that we once accused Bill Clinton of committing.
Most famously, George W. Bush insisted that he knew for sure that there were huge arsenals of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, weapons that could be used in an attack within America's borders. When it became clear that no such weapons existed, George W. Bush switched to justifying his war by saying that Iraq had "weapons-of-mass-destruction-related-program-activities". Talk about legalisms! An activity related to a program related to a weapon of mass destruction could be nothing more than just reading a book about the use of chemical weapons in World War I.
Lately, the American people were told that Bush's National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice was refusing to testify in public, under oath, because the principle of maintaining executive privilege is more important than understanding the events that led up to the attacks of September 11, 2001. Dr. Rice insisted that it was all a matter of principle that no National Security Advisor had testified before anything like the September 11 Commission. When it was revealed that similar public testimony under oath had been offered after the Pearl Harbor attacks, the Bush Administration announced that Dr. Rice would testify after all. Apparently, the principle of the thing was just a legalistic technicality.
One of Richard Clarke's most alarming accusations against the Bush Administration was that he had offered a plan to prevent attacks by Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, but that Condoleeza Rice and George W. Bush had done nothing about the plan. When she finally testified, Dr. Rice claimed that Richard Clarke's plan was actually not a plan, but a collection of "actionable items". What the difference is between a collection of "actionable items" and a plan is, Dr. Rice would not explain.
Far from the honor and decency that Bush and Cheney promised to return to the White House, we have received what Richard Nixon's counsel John Dean calls "Worse Than Watergate". Secrecy and deception, combined with new programs for spying on ordinary Americans, have made the problems of big government even worse. We cannot bring ourselves to subject America to another four years of such unprincipled dishonesty, even if it is covered up with a furious campaign of legal technicalities.
If we say that we believe in the Ten Commandments from God, and then do not insist that our own President follows those Commandments, how can we call ourselves Christian? Mr. Bush has borne false witness to us, and must lose the support of those who speak for Christian morals. |

i hear soldiers and veteran's praising bush because under him, some of them have gotten up to 16% pay raises, including my father who works in the pentagon. i talk with this marine corps recruiter in my school (totally not joining marines, army, or navy...), complaining that if kerry comes into office, there pay checks be cut, there pensions, and that he wouldnt have the heart to finish the job in irak.
yet kerry says on MTV,
Interviewer: WHat will be the difference between your foreign policy and that of the Bush administration.
Kerry: Well, my policy will be the total opposite of this administration. This administration has driven our allies away from us; i will bring them back...................
so he says he'll improve relations with europe, and the world, and i believe him, but we went into irak for a reason which hasnt been fulfilled, and if they leave now, we would have wasted all that time and energy with that country, and they themselves would sink into islamic chaos, b/c islam is a religion stuck in the 7th century...:rolleyes: |

But in response to why we still havent captured Osama, What exactly are we going to charge him with? He said something ina video tape? We have no proof of anything he did. |

I hate him to death. He's the worst excuse for a leader I've ever seen, and is another prime example of why this country is nowhere near a democracy. Also a big contributor to our current hole state.
