There's something I really don't understand. If a broadcast is originally sent @ 128k... what difference does it make if it is recorded @ 128k 256k or 320k? It is still going to sound like 128k... won't it?

Yeah thats what I was gonna say...

Manufacturers should be able to build DAB radio recievers similiar to the psion wavefinder (http://www.wavefinder.com) for around £30 by christmas this year, so it looks good... Shame i couldn't have 1 now, i tried 2 get hold of 1, but cant get it delivered till tuesday :-(

320kps... Not really worth it... Bad for 56kers... Nuff Said :D

work it out from this

1 minute of audio at 128kbps Mp3 = 1Mb
1 minute of audio in Wav format = 10 Mb

so 10 minutes = 100Mb
60 minutes = 600 Mb
120 minutes = 1.2gb

very rough calculations there but should help you

Peace :)

Get ready guys!

The set is only 50 minutes away!!!

Total recorder is scheduled and waiting. I can only hope that there won`t be any internet lags during the set and that my connection will stay up!!
AnotherWay83
yeah wicked...i just realized that after posting...assuming that the set is 130 mins long, im gonna need only about 1.5 gigs..that will be wav...i'll then convert it to mp3...

peace

...correct me if I`m wrong, but if you follow this link:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/essential_mix.shtml

...you`ll find this:

Essential Mix
Every Sun: 0200-0400 GMT+1
Upcoming Essential Mixes
09/09/01 - DJ Tiesto
16/09/01 - Victor Calderone
23/09/01 - Basement Jaxx

It says GMT+1 there, so this would be local time for me, so the set is not one and a half hour away but only HALF AN HOUR!!
