I agree! The movie was brilliant, period. I'd give it a 4 1/2 stars.. |

Tarintino movies are only for the "sophisticated" movie watcher. ;)
If you are a popcorn guzzling, arnie loving, explosion obsessed hollywood movie junkie... then this movie is not for you. This is filmmaking at its best. I love the cameos! Did anyone notice Captain Spalding from House of 1000 Corpses? Hahaha
Dialogue was once again brilliant, which we can only expect from Tarintino. |

unless you consider movies like Requiem for a Dream or 21 Grams to be that, then no. But I do enjoy mindless action too.
Honestly, I liked Kill Bill vol. 1. It was typical Tarantino "uniqueness" and just fun to watch. But Vol. 2 was like 2 steps back. I'll probably end up watching it again though; maybe its better a 2nd time around ;) |

the 2 shouldn't really be compared seperately anyways since it was intended on being one long movie.. you have to look at it as a whole

...Are you kidding?
There was a huge hype over the first Volume for that particular reason, although I do agree that a portion of the people had better intensions for enjoying the flick. So I guess your reasons for enjoying the film are in play here... (ie. action, plot, etc.)
So there are 2 Volumes and I can't help but compare the two, someone had already mentioned that the 2nd was a little 'off' and this is true. Even looking at these 2 Volumes as a whole, I couldn't picture a constant style... It was different. So depending on why you liked the first Volume I think would really affect your likings towards the second. There was a lot less violence in the 2nd, and more plot. But personally I learned to enjoy the 1st volume for its art direction, cinematography, & production design which was a little less constant than the first. Overall it's a great film though, I'd need to view it again for sure.

Just saw it tonight. I thought Vol. 1 was better, more creative. There was hardly anything in Vol. 2 that made me go :eyes:
Still a good movie though. Loved Pai Mei especially when he ends his sentences in a "hmmph" and strokes his beard to the side. Classic chinese acting. |
