Check It Out !
Hey everyone, I go by Glyph. Here's a little bio for anyone who wants to get to know me a bit; Even though I only have like 2 posts, I've been digging your forum for months. I'm new to the joys of trance music (maybe 6 months) but the T.A. site and it's forums have educated me and enlightened me to where I feel it's been years. Your site and ALL it's members are great. Thanks. Music has always been a major part of my life. I've played guitar for a few years now and just last year finished my first CD (guitars, bass, singing etc. all recorded at home to my computer). I wrote all the songs, performed them, produced them and engineered them. If you'd told me then that in a year I'd be listening to music without any guitar I'd have laughed. Well I've always said "there's ONLY two types of music out there....good music and bad music". Fortunately I'm the one that decides which is which (lol). I've decided trance is "good music" so you all can relax now (jk). The point is I've almost finished a CD of trance(?) music and I need you guys' opinion. First I was wondering, is this even trance? If not , what would you call it?
Second of all...do you like it? If not, why? Am I on the right track? My friends all say it's great but they have to because I pay them to be my friends. Thanks in advance for your help. Oh, and I know this is probably posted in the wrong forum but I thought, maybe with the intro and all you'd let me slide. Plus I didn't get a single response yet in the Amateur DJ forum so I thought I'd risk it.

PS I live in beautiful San Diego. I have tickets for Nocturnal Wonderland in San Bernadino next weekend and it'll be my first time to anything like that. I'm a guy and I'm 39 years old which probably makes me one of the oldest here. Now that I think about it, old enough to be a lot of yours father. So bear that in mind when you're thinking of flaming me. Remember; respect your elders. Or I'll take away all your trance listening privileges for a month (ha ha). |

Damn, I wonder why it works for me? I've got two computers here in the house and it works from both of 'em. I right click, hit save target as, and it goes right to the save as dialogue. I guess I'll give up for now and try again later. Thanks for trying. Wow . . .this is different, an unexpected intro there with snare drums ?
Quite bassy as well at the start with synths, break at around 2 minutes with some quiet synths then back with the snares at 2.25, going for the build up, sounds good so far . . .
Middle section is lacking, cant put my finger on what it's missing, maybe not quite hard enuff after the intro but u can feel its still building . . .
another break at 3.40 ish Nice break this one longer heading to the climax . . .
the build starts again 4.50 into the track and its again missing something
maybe the build is too long here.
Bit of an anticlimax at the end, i was expecting the build to explode but it kinda kept going, never quite got the final impact i was expecting.
But overall a nice track, just for me it did not quite get as good as it could have, ending needs to Explode if u know what i mean . . .

| Wicked Neon, Thanks for all your feedback. I'll work on the "explosion" at the end. I guess the synth orchestra doesn't quite cut it. I'll repost it when (if) I'm able to improve it. I'm glad that overall, you liked the track. Oh, by the way, would you consider it trance? If not, how would you classify it? |
